Dr. Christina Hong-Huber
I am a licensed psychologist D.C., Virginia, and New York. Through the Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact (PSYPACT), I can provide teletherapy to clients in 35+ states. Clients that seek me out are usually folks from marginalized communities who are looking for a safe place to discuss and explore their challenges and receive support and build empowerment.
From a social justice-oriented, trauma-informed, and culturally-informed lens, I help clients build a sense of hope through acceptance, compassion, and empowerment. Based on the needs of the client, I integrate various approaches and tailor the therapy to the needs of the individual. I have advanced training in evidence-based therapies including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), and Short-Term Psychodynamic Therapy. I am also board certified in biofeedback.
I work with adults and couples from a variety of cultural backgrounds. My clients describe me as warm and engaging and say that they feel held and supported in therapy. I offer a free 15-minute initial consultation as an opportunity for us to discuss the therapy process. I encourage you to reach out if you feel that I might be a good fit for you, as I would be honored to be a part of your therapy process and support you on your journey towards your best self.
