Jennifer Brindley
Everyone needs support at some point. I strive to help people find strength during difficult times - to keep going, build supports, and focus on finding solutions. I can help identify ways to find more energy and appreciation in your life, and increase insight into sources of distress. Together we can work to identify your natural supports and improve on your strengths, to find balance and live life to your fullest potential.
I am a Boston-based counselor specialized in supporting clients dealing with anxiety, trauma, addiction, grief and loss, and relationship issues. I take a positive, person-centered approach, utilizing mindfulness-based and solution-focused practices to support people in meeting their goals, even in the face of difficult circumstances. I mostly work with college students and young professionals who are managing anxiety, depression, substance use issues, and life transitions.
I am also trained in EMDR for helping clients heal from trauma. My passion for EMDR therapy began after experiencing its transformative impact as a client firsthand. I have completed both basic and advanced EMDR training to support my clients in private practice. My professional background includes serving as a research assistant at the Trauma Center at JRI and working in a community methadone clinic. I also volunteered at a shelter for survivors of interpersonal violence. These experiences have enriched my practice, allowing me to offer informed, compassionate, and effective care to my clients.
