Chances are if you've made it to my page, you're looking for support through a challenging time, are ready to make some changes, or are hoping to simply maintain a healthy and balanced life. For whatever season of life you're currently in, I'm here to offer care with empathy and compassion. As a licensed therapist and board certified health coach, I have over 10 years of experience supporting clients in the mental health and wellness space. I use strength-based approaches and nervous system awareness in my practice. Holding a safe, warm, and non-judgmental space is at the core of the work I do. In our work together you'll see me pull from modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness-based CBT, Solutions Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Currently, I primarily offer virtual appointments with limited in-person availability. I accept some insurances (Aetna, Anthem, UHC) and if you are out of network I'm happy to supply a superbill for you to submit to your insurance for out-of -network reimbursement. Outside of work, I enjoy comic books, swimming, surfing, spending time in nature with my Goldendoodle, Ziggy Stardust, and watching the Great British Baking Show with my partner.

My name is Terry Alcántar Nelson and I am a licensed clinical social worker who has been providing counseling for over 25 years. After all this time, I still love my work and am passionate about helping people heal. Jessica earned her Master’s in Counselor Education with a focus on Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Toledo and holds a BA in Clinical Psychology from California State University San Bernardino. She began her career in community mental health, supporting children and adolescents through a wide range of challenges. In 2019 she founded JTG Counseling LLC, where she specializes in treating PTSD and trauma. As a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, Jessica offers supportive and evidence-based care to individuals working through trauma and emotional pain.
