Deciding to seek therapy can be a hard step to take because it means facing your problems rather than running away from them. When we experience uncomfortable emotions, our instinct a lot of the time is to avoid it and convince ourselves (as well as others) that we're okay. This may lead to short-term relief, however, we often don't realize that it also leads to long-term growth of the issue. This is one way we end up in vicious cycles of depression, anxiety, and low self-esteem (which is difficult enough to deal with on top of college adjustments). My goal is to assist individuals with breaking this cycle by gaining new perspectives on their life situations and in turn empowering them to achieve their personal goals. If you're ready to take the first step toward a brighter future, I would be honored to work with you.
College is often called "the best years of your life," but for many, it feels like an endless loop of performance, pressure, and old patterns. Whether you're navigating the heavy fog of academic burnout, the "lonely-but-smothered" cycle of new relationships, or a major life transition that has left you feeling completely ungrounded, I’m here to help you find your footing. I believe you shouldn’t have to "fix" who you are—especially your sensitivity. Instead, we’ll work on learning how to use it as your greatest compass. How We Work Together With over 23 years of experience, I’ve learned that the most powerful tool in the room is a real, authentic connection. I use a relational, mind-body approach—blending ACT and CBT—to help you name the barriers in your way and retire the survival patterns (like people-pleasing, perfectionism, or masking) that no longer serve you. I’m known for putting students at ease quickly; our first session isn't a "clinical intake," it's a grounded partnership. Specialized Support for Students: Neurodivergence & Burnout: Strategies for ADHD/Autistic students to manage executive function without the "perfectionism" spiral. LGBTQ+ Identity: A safe, affirming space to explore your identity and navigate coming out or relationship transitions. Relationship & Family Cycles: Breaking free from toxic patterns and setting healthy boundaries. Trauma & Identity: Healing from the past while figuring out who you are today. Addiction & Recovery: Navigating campus culture while staying true to your sobriety or harm-reduction goals. The Highly Sensitive Student (HSP): Tools for when the world (and the dorms) feels too loud or overwhelming. Mind-Body Wellness: Supporting students with Alopecia or autoimmune disorders through the emotional toll of chronic illness. Beyond the Office I am a firm believer in the healing power of the outdoors. When I’m not in the office, you’ll usually find me hiking with my dog and finding new adventures in the fresh air. Ready to start a chapter that actually belongs to you? Reach out and let’s see if we’re a good fit.

Do you feel stuck and held back in your life? Perhaps you see the ways you are limiting yourself but do not know how to move forward. I would like to tell you about my practice. I offer a warm, relaxed environment for exploring what may be difficult issues. It is my belief that your wisdom combined with my experience and openness can lead to a life of more joy and freedom. I have been working with individuals, couples, and groups in the counseling psychotherapy field since 1994. It has been a privilege and joy to watch so many couples find their way back to intimacy, so many individuals find relief in what may be tormenting them, so many others find joy and fulfillment in their lives. My approach to therapy is client-centered. I draw from humanistic psychology, somatic psychotherapy, existential psychology and philosophy, gestalt therapy and psychodynamic theories. Which simply means I work with the body, choices, and meaning making. I invite you into the room with me, all of you, including the aspects of yourself that you may have difficulties with. Therapy is a form of play where one experiments with ways of being. In doing this you begin to discover and ultimately let go of what is getting in the way of having a full rich and joyful life. You will discover a multitude of choices of how to approach life and relationships. You will find the opportunity to step into your freedom. This leads to more openness, presence, and creativity.

I am a licensed clinical social worker who has been providing individual psychotherapy to adolescents and adults for the past 20 years. My therapeutic style can be described as interactive, empathetic, nonjudgmental and gently challenging. I believe that the relationship between the therapist and client is essential to positive, healthy change. It is often the relationship with a supportive and skilled therapist that allows people to talk about and explore issues/struggles that feel too difficult to explore on their own. Because therapy is such a unique and personal journey, therapy is centered on you and your unique needs as we work together to build on your strengths, focus on solutions and develop new skills and insights, to help you achieve the personal growth you are seeking.
Hi, I'm Keiran (they/them). I serve individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, panic, grief, shame, loneliness, trauma, and other emotional pain as well as individuals with marginalized identities including various gender identities and sexual orientations. Often, as intelligent people, we use our minds and our intellect to ease our struggles, but these difficult emotions have a bodily experience that is important to acknowledge and work with. My approach to therapy includes mindfulness, body awareness, somatic techniques, and an attachment theory lens. Understanding ourselves and our struggles via logic is a small piece of therapy. We can also get to know ourselves with a felt sense of our internal experiences, judgments, confidence, and other patterns by noticing how our mind and body interact. I believe we all have the ability to heal ourselves. My role as a therapist is to offer you extra support, a welcoming space, a different perspective, and a new approach to your struggles as you move toward healing. I also believe a good fit is a crucial part of therapy, which is why I offer free, 20-minute initial consultations for possible clients.
Hello! I’m Emily, A Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Washington and a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado. My goal is to work to help others build healthy relationships in their personal and professional lives. Think of me as your self awareness gurue, family role interpreter and boundary builder. I work with Individuals as well as couples using the Gottman method. My goal is to help you discover yourself in new ways and bring awareness to themes in your life and how they relate to your family of origin. I have spent the last 10 years working on my craft to care for others and help break unhealthy cycles. I draw from CBT and TF-CBT strategies, DBT strategies, family systems, Gottman and relational psychodynamics to help others with anxiety, depression, processing loss and trauma, as well as, family conflict and relationship issues. I use DBT and client centered therapy techniques to help pay attention to your emotional experience, identify the role you play or played in your family that is still being played out in other relationships today. I help you find self acceptance in your own personality and build awareness of how that is impacted by others. Are you the middle man, the scapegoat, a leader, the avoider or the drama queen? No matter your role, you are enough! Let’s dive into how your role in your family unit contributes to unhealthy cycles that have happened in the past or happening now. I use reenactments in sessions, CBT and family systems strategies to bring awareness to how your role in their family may be contributing to unhealthy cycles. What is your “no” and what is your “yes”. Sometimes we don’t know what that is, but I’m here to help you figure it out. Together we can identify the boundaries that need to be created for a more healthy lifestyle and grieve the boundaries that did not exist in the past and learn how to have “repair moments”. I’m here to build up your self care and create coping skills that serve well in establishing healthy relationships.
I believe being a student and learning is an opportunity, and sometimes having a consistent therapist alongside can make the difference and help you get the most out of the opportunity. Being in school is not a singular thing, it’s not just about being the student in class who does assignments and gets the grade. In addition to being a student, there is one’s mental, physical, and emotional health, there are often bills to pay, and often the needs of others to meet. There are many other parts of ourselves and our lives that intersect with and function together with being in school. It can be overwhelming. It can be an adjustment. Transitions are big and important. There are our lives both in and out of school. Students are often also family members, caregivers, working individuals, or living with loss, trauma, depression, stress, or a medical illness. Students also learn differently, including some with accommodations for success. Some students find they need to confront an overwhelming need for perfection, or perhaps one is facing a particular challenge that is important to look at rather than look away. Therapy can be helpful when you are in school. I like to meet a client where they are at and begin by understanding you. I offer my warmth, and capacity to listen and to hold space even when the workable feels unworkable. I offer my experience and knowledge in counseling and in the creative art therapies, and hold value in an inclusive and affirmative lens. I enjoy working with students in higher education, meeting them in the places where school intersects with other parts of self that must be given care and attention, or to look more closely at or develop one’s career journey. I employ both talk therapy and the use of creative, expressive processes such as movement, poetry, art, music, story, and metaphor. The work is collaborative between counselor and client, being open about therapy goals and progress. I place value on your inherent strengths, and believe that we all hold motivation and an innate capacity to heal and be the very best versions of ourselves. Please call or email me to schedule a free consultation call.
