College life is hard. The pressure, the transitions, the anxiety that won't shut off, the days when getting out of bed feels impossible — you don't have to white-knuckle through it alone. I'm Cheryl, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 20+ years of experience helping people understand what's actually happening in their brain when anxiety, depression, and stress take over — and rewire those patterns using real, practical tools. Not just coping strategies. Actual change. Using CBT, ACT, and neuroplasticity-based techniques, we'll work together as partners to build a mind that works for you — not against you. For students who want their faith woven into their healing, Christian counseling is also available. Telehealth across Colorado. Currently accepting new clients.

Are you feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply not yourself? You're not alone—and you don't have to navigate it on your own. I'm here to support you in making sense of what you're feeling, uncovering patterns, and building healthier ways of coping and connecting. You deserve a space where you can be fully seen and heard—without judgment and without pressure. Therapy isn’t about ā€œfixingā€ you—it's about helping you reclaim your story and your strength. In our work together, you can expect a space that honors your identity, your boundaries, and your voice. Healing is not linear—and growth doesn’t require perfection. Whether you're seeking relief, clarity, or simply a space to exhale, I’m here to walk with you through the process. I work with individuals who struggle with perfectionism, obsessive compulsive disorder, anxiety, trauma, eating disorders, relationship navigation, life transitions, identity and gender issues. I’ll provide you with guidance and direct but judgement free feedback and support.

Offering therapy sessions in-person from my office in West Arvada, and convenient virtual sessions from anywhere in CO, MT, VT, ID and FL! The jump into adulthood is a wild ride. Even if you seem like you’ve ā€œgot it together,ā€ there’s a lot happening—new social circles, changing relationships, big life decisions, and school or work stress that can feel like… a lot. It’s normal to need extra support while figuring out who you are and how you want to show up in the world. I create a safe, judgment-free space where you can talk it out, process what’s going on, and actually feel heard. We’ll work on developing effective coping strategies, building your confidence, learning how to set boundaries, and communicate effectively with those in your life. Sometimes it’s easier to open up to someone outside your everyday life—someone who can help you see things from a different angle without the drama. I have extensive experience working with diverse populations of children and young adults, and I’m passionate about helping people overcome obstacles and thrive. My approach is empathetic, nonjudgmental, and honest. I strive to meet people exactly where they are and support them in moving toward their goals. I grew up in Vermont, lived in Hawaiā€˜i, NYC, and Denver and now call Whitefish, Montana home. When I’m not working, you’ll find me hiking in the mountains, relaxing at the lake, at a live show, or hanging out with my rescue dog, Hendrix.

I aim to guide clients in discovering their patterns and getting off autopilot to begin living a life they choose! I am strongly connected with non-traditional lifestyles and work to cultivate a safe place for all people, most frequently working with clients in queer, non-monogamous, & kink relationships. Most of my clients are wanting to work on issues mostly unrelated to but within the context of these communities and lifestyles, and are tired of having to spend so much time explaining the context to therapists unfamiliar with their world. I also work with folks looking to explore these aspects of themselves for the first time. Growing up, my father's Navy career caused our family to move every 0.5-2.5 years. Since transition was my constant, I developed unique insight into the complex intersection and paradox of excitement, anxiety, fear, resistance, confidence, insecurity, love, and hate that can all be felt simultaneously during times of major change. This is why I love working with college students and helping them to navigate experiences such as: being away from home and re-configuring family relationships; exploring new friendships and romantic relationships; discovering their life path(s); learning a larger variety of ways to cope, communicate, and relate to themselves and the world; and diving more deeply into issues related to identity (e.g. sexuality, gender, higher consciousness, vocation, etc.). I tailor my approach with each of my clients, but primarily utilize mindfulness, experiential activities, and somatic techniques (i.e. deepening the relationship and communication between your mind and body).

You might be a student who looks like you have it together but feels anxious, burned out, or disconnected underneath. Maybe the pressure of classes, relationships, or figuring out who you are is heavier than you expected. Maybe you're navigating a big transition, far from home for the first time, or just noticing that the way you've always coped isn't working anymore. In therapy, we'll slow down, get curious about what's really going on, and build skills that help you feel more like yourself. I draw from a variety of approaches — including body-based techniques, mindfulness, and talk therapy — to tailor our work to what you actually need. You don't have to have it all figured out to start. You just have to show up.

I help young adults shed their self-doubt, people pleasing, and outdated expectations of who they should be, so they can discover what feels genuinely aligned and feel more connected to themselves and in their relationships. Our work can support you in setting clearer boundaries, understanding and expressing your needs, confidently making authentic decisions, and relating to yourself and your body with more compassion and trust. This is a space to let go of perfection, get curious about what you're experiencing, and reconnect with yourself so you can feel more grounded, whole, and fully alive. I offer walk-and-talk and virtual therapy; many of my clients come to me for support with anxiety, low self esteem, relationship issues, life transitions, stress, and eating disorder recovery. We can talk, create art, play games, or connect with nature while we explore your emotions, find your voice, and move through challenges at your own pace. Together, we can uncover patterns and past experiences that may be keeping you stuck, helping you untangle the threads, release societal pressures, and create lasting change. My goal is to help you live a more confident, fulfilling life. If anything here resonates, reach out for a free consultation. I'd love to hear your story!

Are You Still Struggling to Feel Better When You Feel Overwhelmed? Have you already seen medical professionals or therapists to help recover from an accident, injury, medical procedure, assault or childhood abuse, and you still don’t feel significantly better? Does it seem as though you are: Anxious after recurring trauma nightmares? Suffering from PTSD due to military actions or war? Terrified that you will have yet another accident? Overwhelmed with anxiety and don’t understand why? Tired of swinging between angry outbursts and going numb? Depressed because you feel like damaged goods after a trauma? Exhausted from dealing with digestive problems, migraines, and chronic pain which medicines don’t seem to help? Body-centered approach Using a short-term natural therapy approach, I help you to understand and trust that your body knows exactly how to recover from a serious threat. By attending to body sensations as well as thoughts and feelings, trauma symptoms can significantly ease or go away. As a result, you can: Go into strange environments feeling more relaxed: you won’t worry about looking foolish by over reacting to a sound or someone’s comment. Know you can return to a more normal work or school life and even have energy to take on new projects. Have fewer angry outbursts, which scare family members away. Stop reliving the memory of the trauma over and over. Feel confident that you know if it’s ok for someone to touch you. You are not the only one How you are feeling is a very common way people respond to the stress of trauma. Many of my clients feel shame or judge themselves for not being able ā€œto copeā€. It is not unusual to hear them blame themselves for getting so upset over a ā€œminorā€ accident. They feel stupid or ā€œtoo sensitiveā€ about having allowed something that happened long ago to still affect them. Many believe their life has spun out of control and they find it difficult to get on with their lives. I do accept Victim's Compensation payments

Hi, I'm Michael, I understand that tackling life's challenges can feel daunting. We can feel overwhelmed, and not sure where to start. Whether you are going through a tough time or have been grappling with an ongoing mental health concern, therapy can be a tool to help you learn more about yourself and develop strategies to better manage these challenges. Prior to going into private practice I worked in college counseling for 5 years so I am familiar with the unique challenges college students face in managing their mental health while in school. In working with me, clients can expect to have a warm and non-judgmental space where they can work through personal challenges as well as work towards goals and areas of growth. Outside of work I enjoy catching a horror movie, hiking, and spending time with my diva of a cat. Some of my areas of clinical interest include, relationship and family issues, college counseling, trauma, anxiety, non-monogamous and polyamorous relationships, substance use, grief & loss, and depression. I have a passion for working with LGBTQIA+ individuals and have experience providing safe and affirming therapy for trans and non-binary clients. Finding a therapist that is a good fit for you is so important. If you are interested in learning more about me and my approach to therapy please reach out and we can schedule a free 15 minute consultation. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Hi! My name is Alicia, and I want to meet you. Yes, you! College can be intense. You're away from home with the pressure to succeed and do well, but there's also dealing with roommates, parties, and being around people who resemble aliens. You know, they just don't get you and you've never encountered anyone quite like them before. On top of this, you may be the first in your family to go to college. You can't admit to them that it's hard. They had all their hopes and dreams riding on you. So where to go? Come to therapy! Yes, therapy. It may be your first time talking to someone, but I promise it helps to tell someone what you're thinking and what you're feeling. College doesn't have to be scary, and you don't have to go through it alone. We can figure it out together. I am a licensed clinical social worker who has worked with many college students, especially those who identify as first-gen and/or veterans. Therapy with me is conversational. In sessions, you can speak freely. I'm not into judging. That would probably make me a lousy therapist. I offer thoughtful reflection and point out patterns in your behavior that may not be the most helpful, and then we problem-solve and strategize solutions to help get you feeling better. I can also teach you skills to help when your emotions feel overwhelming.
