My name is Amanda Schneider and I am a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in the state of Georgia. I graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in Family and Consumer Sciences and then obtained my Master’s degree in Social Work from Valdosta State University. I am currently under supervision, supervised by Adina Tucker LCSW, while I work to obtain my LCSW. Life transitions can be challenging whether you’re adjusting to a new phase, managing anxiety, moving through grief, facing relationship challenges, or simply feeling stuck. I work with adults and teenagers (13+) who are navigating these complexities, offering a grounded space where you can feel seen, heard, and supported. Therapy is unique to each person and together, we will explore what works best for you. In a safe space, we will explore your strengths, goals, and experiences in order to find healing and growth. My approach is collaborative, down-to-earth, and centered on helping you reconnect with yourself. Together, we’ll focus on building self-esteem, practicing self-compassion, and recognizing your own strengths especially in moments when those things feel hard to access. With a background in hospice care, I have experience working with individuals and families navigating chronic illness, death, and the grief that comes with those experiences. I’ve also worked with older adults navigating anxiety, depression, isolation, and aging related issues. These experiences shaped the way I show up as a therapist and I strive to offer a space where you feel safe to be yourself and talk through your true thoughts and feelings. Starting therapy isn’t always easy, and it’s okay to feel unsure about where to begin. I’m here to walk alongside you as you move toward healing, reconnect with a sense of purpose, and build skills that support you long after our work together.

I enjoy helping others reach their goals using a personable, down-to-earth, and collaborative approach. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing clients succeed in reaching or exceeding their goals. My specialties include stress, anxiety, relationships, motivation, focus, and confidence/assertiveness. Holistic in scope, my approach takes into consideration the many facets of you as an individual, including one's physical health, interpersonal relationships, and spirituality (if desired). Having taught mindfulness now for over 20 years, I enjoy incorporating these skills, helping my clients to be more present and relaxed daily. I work collaboratively with clients helping them to skillfully move toward the change they are seeking and ultimately gain more personal freedom and resiliency in the face of life’s varied challenges. In addition to being a therapist, I am a Certified Integrative Mental Health Professional. This helps me to educate my clients on how diet, exercise, and lifestyle affect mental health. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or like your emotions are running the show, you’re not alone, and you don’t have to figure it out by yourself. I work with adults who are navigating stress, difficult experiences, and emotions that can make everyday life feel heavier than it should. You might feel like you should be coping better, but something keeps getting in the way. Therapy is a space where we slow things down, make sense of patterns, and build practical skills that actually work in real life. My approach is collaborative, practical, and supportive. I draw from DBT, CBT, trauma-informed, and person-centered therapy, but I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all treatment. I focus on emotional regulation, self-compassion, and helping you feel more grounded and in control without asking you to be perfect. I approach my work with a balance of clinical expertise and lived understanding, always guided by what best supports my clients. Having been on both sides of the therapeutic space, I value creating an environment that feels safe, affirming, and human.

You want to appear like you have it all together, but deep down you feel lost, empty, and like something is missing. You've been working on yourself for years, but you are still anxious, still people pleasing, and still asking yourself “what is wrong with me?” You feel like a chameleon and like people don’t know the real you, even worse-you don’t know the real you anymore. You’re tired of going through the motions of life without actually living it. You know it’s time to change and you’re ready to dive into your darkness to face your demons. You’re ready to do the hard work, but need a guide to show you how. And then you find me! I help introspective women struggling with anxiety and low self-esteem stop people pleasing and finally feel safe enough to be unapologetically themselves—by reconnecting with who they truly are and what they deeply want. Together we explore your inner world & make deep level changes so you can become the person you are meant to be. Clients come to me for a relaxed and comfortable counseling space, shoes are optional! In my office, clients feel safe to take up space and be seen. It’s not too late for you to change your life. You are not too far gone and you’re not too broken. You’re just a mosaic and together we can put those pieces back together so you can increase your self-esteem and be a version of you that you are proud of. Head to my website for more information or to schedule a session. I look forward to connecting with you!

Welcome! My approach to therapy starts with believing that change is in our control and, by working from that mentality, we can learn to accept & grow from what we cannot control in order to live our life in an more optimal way. Being in the LGBT community myself, some of my clients value having a therapist that can connect with that experience. In my therapy space, I value authenticity, safety, freedom to choose, connection to others as well as ourselves, & being challenged. My clients want a safe & comfortable space that can help them facilitate growth (that can sometimes be uncomfortable) & I love when I can provide that. I enjoy working with college students who are curious about themselves, desire change, & are interested in exploring issues or past trauma that they feel may be holding them back. I've completed EMDR Basic Training and use this along with other evidence based practices to help my clients reach their goals.
