Hello! My name is Mike and I have been working as a therapist since I graduated with my Master’s in Applied Clinical Psychology from USC Aiken in 2022. Prior to this I attended The Ohio State University where I graduated with a Bachelor’s in Psychology. I have worked as a therapist in a university psychology clinic, an inpatient psychiatric hospital, in the community with children and teens, and currently in the prison system. I feel as though working in these different settings with clients from different backgrounds has helped me be the best therapist possible. Tiffany specializes in working with adolescents and young adults. She values helping clients with all aspects of their identity (i.e. race, sexuality, career, faith, social support, etc) and, of course, most mental health diagnoses. Her theoretical approach works to intertwine person-centered and cognitive-behavioral therapies, with a feminist and liberation psychology emphasis. She prioritizes connecting with clients relationally to allow room for clients to be the expert on their experience, including their personality, strengths, and value systems. Additionally, with cognitive-behavioral therapy, it is her belief that thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are all interconnected and that by managing to change one, it is likely that the others will follow suit. Her emphasis on feminist and liberation psychology perspectives allows for an exploration of how systemic issues (i.e., mass incarceration or employment laws) are affecting a client’s presenting problems. Tiffany believes in utilizing empowerment to allow for the client to explore the various ways they have power over aspects of their life and the larger community they can change. Because of her background in providing Child-Centered Play therapy, she has found the power in integrating expressive methods (i.e., art or journaling) into her clinical work to go beyond relying upon only traditional talk therapy.

Seeking help is challenging. Having to share thoughts and feelings with people can be intimidating. Having to talk to someone you don’t know can be intimidating. Stranger danger! However, like many things in life, it's not as hard as it seems. I work with people who feel overwhelmed with their thoughts and stress. The person who feels stuck. Overthinking leads to anxiety, anxiety leads to avoidance, and avoidance leads to feeling unhappy. Let's break that cycle!
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker/Therapist with a MSW from the University Of Pittsburgh. It is my goal to assist my clients on their individual journey to healing. Currently, if you are struggling mentally and emotionally with recent life changes, feeling depressed or anxious, dealing with gender dysphoria, or having trouble connecting with peers I am here to offer assistance.
Children and young adults have such unique issues to navigate in today’s world. As a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor, I want to create a space for children and young adults to process where they are no matter what that looks like. As a therapist, I specialize in working with clients that struggle with anxiety, depression, life changes and adjustment to different phases and stages of life. Young people are constantly growing and changing. I work with clients to process their growing pains through self-expression. As a former school counselor, I have a heart for helping young people overcome challenges and realize their strengths. Expressive arts and creativity are often at the core of our sessions. Whether that is writing, drawing, or other forms of art, we can use those skills to help you process and externalize even the most challenging emotions. My biggest goal is for you to be able to utilize your passions in the healing process. Ultimately, therapy is a brave space where I guide you in taking ownership of your story and experiences. It would be an honor to start that journey with you! When I am not with clients, I spend my time supporting my alma mater, the University of Georgia! Go dawgs!! I am currently under the supervision of Catherine Baxter, CPCS 2069.
Are you struggling with toxic relationships and finding it difficult to trust people? Did growing up in your family make you feel like you have to please people to avoid being rejected? Did you feel like an outsider no matter what you did? I specialize in helping young adults overcome the traumatic messages from the past that are hurting their relationships in the present.
I get it. You can’t eat. You can’t sleep. Your heart feels like it is beating out of your chest. You feel alone. You put everyone else first and wonder when it will be your turn. You don’t even like the person in the mirror, so how can you hope to find acceptance from anyone else? Is your main concern your body size or shape? Your sexual orientation? The role others expect of you? You are overwhelmed by feelings you don’t even understand. You wonder if you will be stuck like this forever. You want the thoughts on loop in your head to stop, so you can get some rest. You want to be your authentic self… once you figure out what that means. You crave connection and community – to find where you belong. You seek balance. I can help.
Many of the students I work with are dealing with anxiety, stress, sadness, imposter syndrome, or self-doubt. Some are managing heavy academic loads while also worrying about their future. Others are trying to balance school with family expectations, friendships, and romantic relationships. Many feel like they’re supposed to "have it all together" but deep down feel lost, stuck, or just exhausted from trying so hard. In our work together, we focus on giving you a place where you don’t have to perform or pretend. Therapy is a place where you can be honest about what’s hard, get support in making sense of it, and start finding ways to feel more grounded, more confident, and more in charge of your own life — without the pressure to be perfect.
Need a boost but don't know where to start? Does stress, anxiety, depression, substance use, or life events have you stuck? Individuals experiencing challenges with life stage events, anger, depressive mood, stress or anxiety, conflict resolution regarding relationship problems, and career/school difficulties can expect additional support in the areas of learning effective coping skills, communication skills, self-care and resiliency skills, self-exploration, & work-life-school balance action steps. Quick Question: Are you ready for a change? If so, there is no time like now to start your New Beginning! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP). My approaches include: Supportive Reflection, Mindfulness Training, Crisis De-escalation, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Career Consultation, Anger Management, and Mood/Emotion Regulation. In therapy, we work together as a team towards your progress one step at a time until we ultimately reach your comfortable place... patience, accountability, and effort are essential to the therapeutic process. Feel free to reach out to me to discuss your treatment options. Welcome to NBC Services!
