Therapists for college students near 30332
Young adulthood is tough, and I love helping my clients learn how to balance the stress of college with the rest of their life. I have worked with many young adults who struggle with perfectionism or burnout. For specific treatment concerns, I specialize in working with young adults struggling with anxiety, panic attacks, OCD, ADHD/AuDHD, BFRBs (skin picking/hair pulling), and insomnia/sleep optimization. I can help if you're curious if you have a specific diagnosis and want to learn more, or if you're looking to understand yourself better and feel like you have the tools you need to handle whatever life throws your way. I am LGBTQIA+ affirming and experienced in working with these clients. My office is about 5 min from the KSU campus in Kennesaw, and I see clients virtually as well.
My name is Ashleigh Tricksey. I have been working in the counseling field for 5 years now. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in my theoretical approach while still integrating other techniques that best fit the needs of the client. If you are experiencing anxiety, adjustment issues, depression, grief/loss, low self-esteem, and/or trauma then I am here to help you reach your goals and maintain healthy mental health.
My first career was in teaching and counseling is my second career. I did my internship at Ridgeview Institute on the adolescent unit. I worked there for 5 years as the DBT coordinator, utilizing both my teaching and counseling skills. While there, I trained graduate students in DBT (dialectical behavioral therapy.) I also became a registered play therapist during that time. I started a private practice, My Secret Garden counseling service, in 2015. I work with all ages, mainly helping people build a life worth living by learning to manage their emotions instead of having their emotions manage them. I believe in the inherent worth of every person, and that healing comes from relationship. I am a Christian, but have seen people of various beliefs. I am well versed in DBT, but also incorporate interactive play, talk therapy, and expressive art techniques.

My name is Jessica Kettell and I am a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with the American Nurses Credentialing Center. I am here to help you restore your mental health and empower you to live your life to your fullest potential. Are you feeling sad or empty? Do you have trouble sleeping? Or maybe, you are so overwhelmed, anxious, or discouraged that it’s hard for you to make it through the day? You might find it hard to focus on tasks or assignments. Whatever problems you are facing right now, let’s tackle them together! You are not alone. You deserve to be happy and enjoy your life. I have completed a Fellowship Program in Functional and Integrative Psychiatry with Dr. James Greenblatt. My lifelong dream has been to make mental health care more accessible to individuals and to reduce the stigma associated with mental health treatment. Just as it is normal to seek treatment for diabetes, it should be natural to seek treatment to improve your mental health. You are a biochemically unique individual. A treatment that works well for someone, might not work best for you. That is why I use an evidence-based, whole-body, personalized approach to identify all factors that might be contributing to your mental health condition such as nutrition, lifestyle, hormones, genetics, and stress. Good nutrition and lifestyle practices are the foundation of mental wellness. I would love to support you on your mental health journey. Let’s do this together!

Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail. – Ralph Waldo Emerson Hello. I am Tina, a Nurse Practitioner who is board-certified in Psychiatry, Family, and Midwifery. I am experienced in treating a variety of psychiatric conditions, such as Disorders of Mood and Anxiety, Children and Adolescents, Schizophrenia, and Dual-Diagnosis, as well as Women’s Health, including during pregnancy. I boast a very diverse work history, passion for people, and an integrative approach to caring for the whole patient across the lifespan. In my free time, you can find me hustling up kids and chickens, “reading” a good audiobook or multi-tasking my way through life. I am a graduate of Vanderbilt and Emory University where I completed a doctorate in nursing practice and multiple nursing degrees. My path to success has been and remains humble. Since 2005, I have worked in a variety of settings from the emergency department and Pediatrics to Family and Women’s health as well as inpatient and outpatient Psychiatry. My training and experiences in both federally qualified health centers and private practice settings that had limited access to psychiatric providers ignited my passion to provide safe, affordable, quality mental health care no matter where a patient may be literally and figuratively. All psychiatry providers at Foresight have specialized experience in treating a wide range of common mental health conditions, including but not limited to ADHD, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, depression, and PTSD. I'm an OCD, phobia, and picking/pulling specialist. 90% of my caseload has OCD and about half also have a phobia or a body-focused repetitive behavior (BFRB). I have a lot of experience with taboo themes (P-OCD, Z-OCD, I-OCD) and people that have primarily mental compulsions. I'm open about having OCD and a BFRB myself. I know what it's like! I'm an LGBTQIA+, kink, and poly-affirming therapist that believes therapy should be available to everyone. I want people to know that therapists are not pinnacles of perfection; we have our own struggles and good therapists use those struggles to become better practitioners. If you're looking for a nonjudgemental therapist that shows her humanity and embraces it with some humor then I might be a good fit for you. I completed specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and I'm intensively trained in Exposure and Response Prevention for OCD. I'm also trained in the ComB model for body-focused repetitive behaviors. I work exclusively online so I can see you no matter where in Georgia you happen to be.

I worked eight years as an Adult Nurse Practitioner in several settings before expanding my specialty to Psychiatry/Mental Health; it was the best career decision I could have made. I started practicing Psychiatry in a correctional setting, treating adolescents and adults. It was there that I recognized the significance of early mental health promotion, screening, and treatment. For the past four years, I’ve worked in a private practice with a diverse patient population across the lifespan. My main role is assessing, diagnosing, education, and medication management, and I occasionally incorporate therapy. I have found that motivational interviewing helps elicit the patient’s goals and determine readiness for change. The individual patient and his/her goals dictate my chosen therapy modality. Brief supportive therapy, Grief therapy, and CBT interventions are the modalities I most often incorporate. All psychiatry providers at Foresight have specialized experience in treating a wide range of common mental health conditions, including but not limited to ADHD, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, depression, and PTSD. In addition, I specialize in the following areas: academic stress, BIPOC mental health issues, CBT-I, comorbidities/medical complexity, deprescribing, holistic approaches to psychiatry, LGBTQIQ2s+ mental health, personality disorders, somatic symptoms disorders, trauma-informed care, anger management, antisocial personality disorder, autism spectrum disorder, chronic illness, chronic pain, developmental disorders, dissociative disorders, first responders, grief, men’s issues, pregnancy, prenatal, postpartum, racial identity, self harming (non-suicidal self injurious behavior), transgender care, veterans care, women’s issues (PMDD, PCOS, perimenopause, menopause, etc.)
"You deserve the BEST. You do have CHOICES. Your choices should bring you PEACE." This is the foundation on which "Dr. Kay" builds and what helped her thrive after battling major depression in college. Initially failing in her major and being forced to withdraw with an emergency mental health leave, Dr. Kay is familiar with battling the unresolved past and pressing toward hopes for the future. Dr. Kay thrives with "young folk" who are seeking to be heard, understood and healed within this unique space.
