My goal is to help you feel like the best version of yourself. If you are looking for a real and authentic person who will be your partner in this shitshow we call life, and not just someone asking you "how does that make you feel" and head nodding, then I'm your girl! If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure where to turn, you’re not alone. I’m Ron, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) providing thoughtful, compassionate psychiatric care through telehealth. My goal is to offer a supportive, respectful space where you feel heard and understood. I work with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, mood disorders, ADHD, trauma-related symptoms, perinatal and postpartum concerns, stress, and major life transitions. My approach is collaborative and individualized, taking time to understand what you’re going through and creating a plan that fits your goals. Medication management with me is never rushed or one-size-fits-all. I prioritize education, shared decision-making, and minimizing side effects. I take a holistic view of care and strive to create a calm, nonjudgmental virtual space where you can speak openly and feel supported. Reaching out for help can feel like the hardest step. My goal is to make that step feel a little lighter by offering care that is accessible, respectful, and genuinely human. If you’re ready to begin, I’d be honored to work with you.
*I am currently meeting with clients via telehealth or in person* My approach to therapy is client-centered at its core, providing a judgment-free zone to explore thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I trust my clients to know what they are looking for out of therapy, so we’ll collaborate and decide on goals together. You'll set the tone, pace, and agenda. I gently guide you as we talk through worries, learn new skills, or better understand what drives your habits, behaviors, and emotions. I love to laugh with my clients, so let’s have some fun too. Trauma has always been present in the work that I do. For that reason, I pursued advanced training and evidence-based treatments to adequately address the level of trauma my clients experience. My modality of choice is EMDR and I use EMDR with the majority of my clients. When not using EMDR, I use a non-directive Client Centered Therapy approach. Testing: I am able to complete testing in the areas of learning disorders, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, personality disorders, and trauma/dissociation. I do not complete testing that is for the court system or custody evaluations. My assessments are comprehensive and lengthy, so they are not always covered by insurance. Please contact me with questions.

At Personal Balance Counseling, we work with students who may look like they’re managing everything on the outside but feel overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, or exhausted underneath it all. You might be adjusting to college, struggling with relationships, feeling pressure to succeed, questioning what comes next, or simply realizing that the ways you’ve always coped aren’t working as well anymore. Our therapists work with students experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, relationship concerns, difficulty managing emotions, eating and body-image concerns, and major life transitions. We also understand that college can bring a unique mix of independence and uncertainty—balancing classes, work, family expectations, friendships, dating, and figuring out who you are along the way. You don’t need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. Our goal is to provide a comfortable, supportive space where you can be yourself, understand what’s going on beneath the surface, develop practical ways to cope, and build healthier patterns that actually fit your life. Personal Balance Counseling offers both in-person and telehealth therapy, with a team of clinicians who bring different personalities, specialties, and approaches to therapy. We’ll help you find someone who feels like the right fit for you.
I earned a Master of Science in Nursing degree specializing in Psychiatry from The University of Texas at Arlington. I am proud to say I am a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I am a true believer that not one of my fellow humans is immune to stress, anxiety, and feelings of sadness at some point in their life. We all find ourselves feeling vulnerable at times. It is completely normal to question why we feel the emotions that we do, why we seem to fall apart at times, and better yet, how we can get through it all in one beautiful piece. I think the first step to meaningful recovery from anxiety, depression, complex mental illness, and/or substance use is to reach out and ask for help. It is a difficult, but very brave action. I am not one to judge, look down on, question your past experiences, or current situation. I am very good at rationally breaking down a situation and I can offer practical advice and medication suggestions depending on your goal in mind. Hello! I help women who feel like they are struggling with anxiety, relationships, or challenging life transitions, to go from feelings of anxiety, self-doubt, and emotional overwhelm to reclaiming their voice, strength, and sense of self. I use an empowering, strengths-based approach to support my clients in their growth and healing. I believe therapy can be a space to finally breathe, feel seen, and to start finding clarity about what you need. My style is... • Trauma-informed, non-judgmental, client-centered, and strengths-based. • Creates a space that is compassionate and affirming, where you can show up fully as yourself and be met with understanding and support. • Respects your lived experience and the context in which it was shaped – including relationships, culture, and systemic influences. My therapeutic approach is guided by you. Since each person’s experiences are unique, I use interventions in a way that is responsive to each client’s needs. It's important that you feel comfortable with your therapist. I would be happy to talk with you to explore your needs and whether we would be a good fit.
Hi! Thank you for checking out my profile. I am a DePaul double grad - undergrad (2009) and grad (2014) and am so appreciative the time I had there. I remember that time fondly, but I also remember how stressful life can be during that period with lots of changes going on. The most important thing to me as a therapist is that my clients are getting what they need from the therapeutic process in order to grow and life their most fulfilling lives. I look forward to connecting with you to see if I can be a helpful support for you.
