Kerry Cavanagh
**Teletherapy only. My approach to therapy has a strong focus on mindfulness, self-compassion and self-care. Additionally, I frequently utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and addressing cognitive distortions when working with Anxiety and/or Depression. I utilize a very structured approach to therapy with opportunity for input and feedback. My goal is to remind clients that they are doing so much better than they give themselves credit for, but to also give them tools and coping skills to take with them throughout life. I believe that by creating more space for self-compassion, we can improve many of our negative feelings and behaviors.
Shannon Psychiatry, LLC
Hello! I am currently accepting new patients. All visits are through telemedicine, so I can see anyone in the state of Massachusetts, New Hampshire, or Colorado. My love for what I do in psychiatry, comes from the joy I get in helping others improve their lives. Most of my patients do not know which direction to go when then come to me, and that is ok. Some people come to me looking for second or third opinions about diagnosis or medications, some people are referred by a therapist to start medication. We can openly discuss decisions and options. This is a judgement free zone. There is no way you can TMI me! My primary role in our sessions is diagnosis, evaluation and medication management. The role I have in therapy is very small. Most clients are already in therapy or have been referred by therapists to me. All sessions are conducted by tele-medicine. **Offering flexible hours, evening appointments available, also some weekends. **

Mike Smukler
You can be managing everything and still not be all right. Anxiety that stays a step ahead of you. Anger that comes out sideways. Overthinking that never resolves anything. A life that still functions but doesn't feel like yours. Name one and the rest tend to follow. The patterns behind this are usually old. They made sense once, and they were how you got through something. Now they arrive before you've decided anything, and they hold on. Noticing them is what loosens them, even when it doesn't feel like progress. How I work is introspective and practical: ACT, CBT, and mindfulness based approaches, shaped by Taoist philosophy. I pay close attention, I don't push, and I say what I notice. This isn't another project to optimize yourself out of. Over time something shifts. You stop bracing so hard. You trust your own read more and need to control less. You get kinder to yourself, which quietly makes you kinder to everyone else. Life stops feeling like something to manage.

My goal is to build your confidence in making nutrition decisions for a full life!
Deborah Goldberg McCarthy, LICSW
Having worked in a variety of mental health settings and most particularly through my work at academic Boston-area hospitals, I have developed both an affection for and an expertise in working with people in their 20's. It is such a time of change, choices, transitions and adjustments. Finding a way to ground ourselves and connect with our own instincts can make all the difference in the journey through adult life.
Carisa Bishop
I’ve had the privilege of working with students from all walks of life—PhD candidates at MIT, first-year undergraduates just beginning their college experience, and international students who have traveled across the world to study in the Boston area. I understand the unique mix of excitement, pressure, and expectation that comes with academic life, and I know that the right therapeutic support can make all the difference between simply getting through college and truly thriving in it. We don’t leave our pasts behind when we move onto campus. Sometimes, unresolved experiences or past trauma can create barriers to feeling fulfilled or confident in this new chapter. College is about much more than your major—it’s a time of self-discovery, growth, and learning how to navigate both independence and connection. Whether you’re seeking support for stress management, identity exploration, or processing painful experiences, I’m here to help you build insight, resilience, and a stronger sense of self as you move through this important stage of life.
