As a therapist, I strive to bring warmth and wits into sessions with my patients. My role is to help people identify patterns that are causing trouble or distress. This process involves not only trying to understand the "root" of the problem, but also looking for ways in which individuals might get stuck in problematic ways of relating to others or thinking about themselves. This can be hard work, but it has the potential to be very rewarding. In my experience, people who engage in therapy often find that old patterns can change, and new choices are able to emerge in their lives. In my previous role as associate director of Boston University's Behavioral Medicine clinic, I worked with a diverse group of undergrad and graduate students. In my current practice, I work with adolescents and young adults who are struggling academically, or who are taking a leave of absence from college or grad school due to mental health concerns. I also have interests in depression, anxiety, parenting, postpartum depression/anxiety, and spiritual issues. But really, I like working with anyone striving for an examined life. I am not in-network with any insurance plans, but you may be able to use out of network benefits to help pay for the cost of therapy.

I am accepting new clients! I believe in the power of therapy to help people connect with inner wisdom, explore and build upon strengths, and process difficulties in a supportive and non-judgmental space. I view the therapeutic relationship as being fundamental to growth and change, as it lays the groundwork for you to work through vulnerable feelings and explore relational patterns. I try to foster this relationship by connecting on a human level and providing an atmosphere of care, acceptance, openness, curiosity, and humility. While I tend not to give advice, I may share new perspectives, offer tools for change, or help you draw connections between current patterns and past experiences. I deeply respect your decision to seek therapy and look forward to getting to know you.

I am the mythical therapist who understands gender, trauma, and neurodivergence at the same time. They told you it was impossible, but they were wrong! I’m right here! Instead of teaching you buzzwords and therapyspeak, I can help you build the relational skills to communicate what you feel, want, and need in your own words. I can guide you in exploring identity and building a resilient sense of self. My approach is a fairly eclectic mix of modalities, but always relational and attachment-based. I practice from a neurodiversity lens and am well-versed in understanding and meeting the needs of clients living with autism, ADHD, and other flavors of neurodivergence. I am passionate about helping you better understand your nervous system, to contextualize why you do what you do and figure out what you need. I also know that each person I work with has been shaped not only by their individual history, but by the culture(s) and systems of power that surround them. I see naming and exploring those forces as a liberatory and necessary part of therapy. When I’m not seeing clients, I may be found spending time with friends, hiking or camping, making pottery, hanging out with my dog, reading, playing video games, or crocheting. In terms of social location, I am a white queer transmasculine/genderqueer millennial and have lived experience with neurodivergence.

Therapy doesn’t have to feel stiff or scary. I believe healing works best when we can laugh, reflect, and be real together. I create a space where you can bring your full self, messy, hopeful, curious, and everything in between. Whether you’re navigating stress, identity, relationships, or just figuring out who you want to be, we’ll work side by side to uncover your strengths and help you move forward. As a social work intern, I’m passionate about supporting people through life’s in-between moments, the chapters that feel uncertain, overwhelming, or full of possibility. I bring an easygoing, compassionate style to therapy, blending evidence-based practices with genuine human connection. My approach is collaborative and non-judgmental: think of me as both a guide and a co-pilot. I work with individuals who want to explore identity, manage stress and anxiety, process life transitions, and deepen self-understanding. I also care deeply about working with young adults, students, and marginalized communities, helping folks feel seen and supported in spaces that often overlook them. Therapy with me is not about being ‘perfect’, it’s about exploring your story, building resilience, and finding ways to grow that actually feel authentic to you."

Chi is all about helping you feel more present in your life. With a fusion of cognitive-behavioral therapy, talk therapy, and Eastern philosophies, Chi brings a fresh perspective to help you. Imagine feeling more present, less stressed, and in tune with your mind, body, and spirit. That's Chi's mission – to empower you to thrive holistically. Whether you're dealing with stress, anxiety, depression or just need someone to talk to, Chi is your ally, dedicated to co-creating positive changes that resonate with you. A typical session begins with a brief check-in; we then proceed to engage in mindfulness or somatic-centered exercises designed to enhance coping skills. Toward the end of the session, we integrate these skills, empowering you to overcome distress and feel more present in your daily life. My journey started unexpectedly one day by chance or fate when I stumbled upon a book on Eastern philosophy and mindfulness while browsing through a thrift store. It was a serendipitous moment that introduced me to mindfulness and its potential to improve well-being. Intrigued by what I read, I found myself drawn into the practice of mindfulness. This newfound passion eventually inspired me to pursue a master's degree in counseling, setting me on the path I'm on today. I strive to create an open and safe environment for collaboration and exploration with my clients. My approach is anti-oppressive and I celebrate each individual's expression of identity and cultural differences.

I am certain that the warm, and nonjudgmental environment that I provide will help you feel safe and supported as you explore the problems that interfere with the way that you want to live your life. I am pleased that you have enough self-awareness to realize that you need to act now. I have over twenty years of experience helping clients better understand themselves, reduce their suffering, and increase their capacity for joyful living. Successful therapy depends on a good fit between therapist and client; it's precisely the quality of the collaborative therapeutic relationship that is central to healing. Welcome. My name is Kate, and I offer psychodynamically oriented, trauma-informed, compassionate, and affirming therapy to folks of all kinds. I work with people across the lifespan, many of whom identify as queer and/or neurodivergent and are trying to make sense of a world that can feel overwhelming. Some are living with long-term stress, trauma, anxiety, or depression, while others are seeking support with life transitions, relationships, or family dynamics. I also offer clinical supervision. Clients often value working with me when they feel ready to explore their inner world more deeply—to better understand the hopes and fears beneath relational and behavioral patterns that increase suffering. I also regularly offer skills-based techniques, drawing from DBT, to help with in-the-moment management of distress and emotional overwhelm. I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is fundamental to a successful experience. My hope is to provide every client with a safe, supportive space to explore, learn more about themselves, feel truly seen, heard and accepted, build new skills, grow, and reconnect with who they really are. I look forward to connecting with you.
