I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a deep passion for working with young adults. I believe the early adult years are some of the most important—and often most misunderstood—seasons of life. Rather than something to simply “get through,” I view this stage as a powerful period of identity formation, growth, and possibility. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. After spending a year living abroad, I went on to receive her Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from Northeastern University. Throughout my graduate training and post-master’s clinical work, I have supported youth and families across a range of settings, including in-home therapy, group home care, outpatient clinics, and municipal mental health. I understand that young adulthood can feel overwhelming—whether it’s anxiety, relationships, school, or simply trying to figure things out. Therapy with me is a place to slow things down and make sense of what’s going on. Sessions feel like a real conversation, where clients can explore their experiences, connect patterns, and develop strategies that are actually useful in everyday life. My goal is to create a space where clients feel comfortable, understood, and supported as they navigate this stage.

Working through these challenges is extremely important and attainable. I have extensive experience working with children, adolescents and adults. I approach the needs of my clients individually. I utilize my experience with different therapeutic methods such as cognitive behavioral therapy, strength based and mindfulness based stress reduction techniques. I am passionate about working with people to understand and overcome things such as anxiety, depression, coping with issues relating to the Covid pandemic, anger and mitigating substance use. Shoreline Wellness Center places a focus on talk therapy (psychotherapy) to help patients better manage the stress they encounter in their daily life. Working with a therapist has many benefits, such as coping with feelings, facing and solving problems, or changing behavioral patterns that are leading to some of your symptoms. In therapy, we don’t just talk about problems. The main goal is to develop a reasonable and doable solution. Sometimes you may have “homework” to complete for your therapist. This may include something like tracking your moods throughout the day, journaling about your thoughts, going out of your way to be social, or joining in activities that caused you to feel anxious in the past. Your therapist may even suggest for you to try to look at things differently or to learn new skills to use in your everyday life. Therapy focuses on current and past thoughts, feelings, and issues. Both are important, as they may very well be connected in some way. Discussing your challenges and having an open dialogue is the key to finding the solution to help your present and prepare for your future.

My name is Ricardo and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. My work focuses on supporting people navigating eating disorders, OCD, and the unique experiences of LGBTQIA+ individuals. These struggles can feel isolating—but they don’t have to be. I offer a warm, affirming space where you don’t have to explain or justify who you are or what you’re going through. Together, we’ll explore the patterns and pain points in your life with care. I use approaches like CBT, Exposure & Response Prevention (ERP), and motivational interviewing, always through a trauma-informed and person-centered lens. But just as important as the tools is the relationship—we’ll build something grounded in trust and mutual respect. I know how loud the inner critic can get, how overwhelming it feels to be stuck in loops of anxiety, shame, or self-doubt. You deserve relief, and you deserve to feel more at home in yourself. Therapy can be a space where you get to exhale and be fully seen. If anything here resonates, I invite you to reach out. I offer a free 15-minute consultation so we can talk about what you’re looking for and see if we’re a good fit. I’d be honored to walk alongside you on this part of your journey.
I am Counseling psychologist, and I've worked in college mental health for the last five years, first as a therapist at Syracuse University's counseling center, then at Rhode Island School of Design's counseling center. I both provided therapy, and helped train others to provide therapy. I love working with students and helping them adjust to being at a university, figuring out how to cope with the demands of college, and find their way in the university system to make sure that they have access to not just tools for their mental health- but access to academic supports, financial assistance, and resources to help them work with their faculty members. I'm a generalist- I work with people across a wide range of issues and identities, and so I really try to tailor what I'm doing to fit what YOU need. I also have specialised training in LGBTQ+ mental health and treatment for Trauma. I believe that we are whole people, and our identities, culture, and access to resources are important to understand, respond to and support in therapy. I both work to help you understand your experience so you can respond in new and creative ways, and also know and use pragmatic strategy-based approaches that give you concrete ideas how to take the next step. If that sounds like a fit for you, reach out and I'm happy to speak more!
