I am a psychologist working at CampusCare Counseling, a group practice serving only college students. I am highly experienced in addressing mental health needs of undergraduate and graduate students. My therapeutic work takes a largely integrative approach including, but not limited to, the use of psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, dialectical behavioral, exposure and response prevention, and acceptance and commitment therapeutic interventions. I work through a humanistic and client-centered lens, drawing from many concepts of internal family systems therapy. I believe that at our core, we are all inherently “good,” but our unique life experiences can lead us to adopt beliefs, behaviors, and coping strategies that may be healthy at times, or harmful at others. For this reason, I believe it is essential to explore the relationships and events that shaped distressing thoughts or unwanted behaviors to facilitate meaningful change. I hold unconditional positive regard for my clients, utilizing a trauma-informed approach to help college students gain a deeper understanding of themselves and a genuine appreciation for all the parts that make them who they are. It is my belief that with self-insight and self-love present, transformation, healing, and relief are always within reach.
I specialize in working with clients with anxiety, but also treat a number of other issues, including (but not limited to) depression, ADHD, life transitions, relationship issues etc. I also work as a faculty field advisor at Boston College School of Social Work.
Life can leave us feeling unsettled in our surroundings or unfulfilled with who we are. We may feel lost, anxious, or stuck in patterns that no longer serve us. I believe that a meaningful therapeutic relationship can help to explore life openly, without judgement, and provides an opportunity to understand yourself more clearly. I work with young adults and adults who want to explore transitions in life, manage anxiety and stress, work through challenges in relationships, and heal from past experiences. My hope is that our relationship will help you will feel seen, heard, and valued, allowing room for movement in your life. My approach is warm and collaborative, encouraging curiosity about your internal experiences, guiding you to develop self-compassion, and identifying skills to help you manage. I often integrate somatic techniques and mindfulness practice to support you in connecting mind with body and I am interested in how social and systemic forces impact our lives. I believe we all have inner wisdom and can sometimes lose sight of that. I hope to join you in accessing that wisdom, to feel empowered in your choices and reconnect with who you are. If you think this approach may be a good fit, I encourage you to reach out and I look forward to hearing from you!
Hello there! Whether you’re new to therapy or returning for another go, here’s what you can expect from our sessions: a conversation where clinical insight, honesty, and compassion intersect. I have experience helping folks navigating eating disorders, anxiety, life transitions and relationship challenges. My approach centers around making meaningful change, moving forward with imperfections, and recognizing when it’s time to cut ourselves some slack. Together, we’ll create a space where you can feel understood while also being gently challenged toward the life and relationships you want for yourself. I believe that mutual respect, authenticity, and trust are crucial in developing a healing relationship. Your feedback and questions are encouraged throughout the process. And of course, sprinkles of humor are welcomed! In my downtime, I love playing video games (favorites include Elden Ring and the Sims), hiking, camping, and drawing!
Using an integrative approach, my therapeutic style is grounded in compassion, honesty, humor, and humility. I work with individuals of all ages, but specialize in working with college-age adults. Individual therapy sessions are provided for 45-minutes/session, usually scheduled on a weekly basis. These weekly sessions lay the foundation for a strong therapeutic relationship, help with learning new skills, and create important momentum so you can experience relief and reach your therapy goals. We will work together to acknowledge and understand your past experiences and begin to re-affirm your feelings of personal worth. I also provide full and partial psychological evaluations, diagnostic evaluations (ADHD, mood, anxiety, learning, autism, developmental disorders), and educational evaluations. Assessments can be structured to measure social functioning, personality, memory, language, learning, and attention, or to provide diagnostic clarity. Individualized recommendations provided will support and facilitate growth, helping to set the path for success.
Accepting new patients.....It is through therapy that we come to understand how our experiences make our lives meaningful. Choosing a therapist isn't an easy task; I hope sharing my perspective helps. Over the last decade I have worked at universities, elementary schools, rehabilitation centers and group homes with children and adults from 7-70. These experiences have shown me that the right environment activates our innate capacity to mature and thrive. Therapy is not about "fixing" someone, it's about creating a space that supports growth. My approach embraces the power of personality to facilitate change. Through active listening, I acknowledge the impact of personal experiences and encourage exploration. Like exercising - regular, creative dialogue yields new strengths and abilities. In this way, individuals find their own solutions that are often more personalized than CBT. As you search for a therapist, consider me - I think you'll find me accessible, pragmatic, and insightful.
