Most of us need help, at one time or another in our lives, and asking for help is not always easy. However, it is important to realize our own limitations and allow yourself to feel better. Mental health is a vital part of overall well-being, and its impact on our life should not be underestimated. I create a safe and secure therapeutic environment and work hard to treat everyone with respect.
College is often synonomous with stress. Adapting to independence. Figuring out your identity, beliefs, and preferences apart from family influence. Balancing classes and social life. You're living "Adulting 101." I work with lots of folks managing life transitions and stress. Sometimes this includes managing anxiety or working through past trauma, but it always includes working together to create a space for you to question and learn and grow into the person you desire. I want you to feel freedom to show up and take up space in your life. We'll collaborate to determine what that looks like for you.

I specialize in working with folks with impulsive patterns, anxiety, difficulty communicating, relationship struggles, trouble regulating emotions, executive function challenges, as well as supporting folks through transitions. I love working with neurodivergent (ASD, ADHD, OCD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, or other neurodevelopment differences) folks and their families. My clients tend to be people who don't sit still well. My office is full of puzzles, games and fidgets and I'm happy to walk-and-talk and offer more experiential sessions as well. I have over a decade of specialized clinical experience with neurodivergent young people and their families. I offer an experiential approach that is playful and warm yet direct. I am strength based and solution focused and will cater my approach to the interests and needs of my clients.

Solange is a Spanish-speaking Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner based in Texas. With over a decade of experience as a registered nurse, she has worked in various clinical settings from surgery to home health. For the past three years, Solange served as a Family Nurse Practitioner focused on pain management. Through this work, she recognized the interconnectedness of comorbid conditions and mental health. This inspired her to pursue post-master's training as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner through the University of Texas Rio Grande. In her practice, Solange strives for a holistic approach, addressing the full range of her patients' needs and treatment goals. For her clients, she provides the necessary time to discuss their concerns during initial and follow-up appointments. Her comprehensive yet compassionate approach benefits all her clients as she helps them improve their mental health and overall wellbeing. When not working, Solange enjoys gardening in the home she shares with her husband, reading fantasy novels and showing her dog in competitions. She is a person with strong family roots and as the daughter of immigrants, she appreciates the sacrifices her parents made to give her greater opportunities in life. For Solange, health, happiness, and family are inextricably linked, forming the foundation of a rich and meaningful life. Do you find yourself obsessing about weight, body image, food, calories, or working out? Do you engage in restrictive behaviors that only lead to bingeing and purging? Do you ever get intrusive thoughts or images that are distressing and you just can't seem to get rid of them? You may even have thoughts of harming someone and have to check to make sure you didn't. You don't actually want to harm them, but the thoughts keep coming. You might even worry that if you don't do something the right way, then it could result in one of your loved ones dying or 'something bad' happening. These are just some of the comments that people with Eating Disorders and OCD might struggle with. It can be very distressing and overwhelming. I work with clients on learning how to manage their emotions and sit with discomfort. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients get their lives back and actually enjoy their college career. I do provide free 15 minute consultations, so if you think we might be a good fit, please reach out!

I believe that everyone has the capacity for growth and healing, even in the face of life’s challenges. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Eating Disorder Specialist, I am passionate about helping you navigate issues such as eating disorders, anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, and life transitions. I believe therapy is a journey we embark on together, and I approach each session with curiosity and compassion. My aim is to create a warm, nonjudgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings, uncover behavior patterns, and develop practical tools to lead a more fulfilling life. Reaching out can take immense courage, and I admire your strength in seeking support. I believe each person has the power to grow, heal, and embrace the changes they desire. I practice with science-supported strategies to help people reduce stress, make health behavior changes (e.g., eat healthier), and adjust to illness or injury. I also work extensively with individuals who experience anxiety, depression, body image concerns, and disordered eating. I am trained in cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based interventions, and positive psychology interventions. I conduct teletherapy and am licensed for residents in North Carolina and all the states in PSYPACT (https://psypact.site-ym.com/page/psypactmap) . Teletherapy has been found to be comparably effective to in-person therapy. It also offers greater flexibility, accessibility, and privacy. I'd be happy to work with you!
I work with students, adults, couples, and veterans who are seeking respite and levity for whatever issues they may find themselves mired within. I believe that healing cannot occur in isolation and the role of therapist is to serve as a guide and confidant in the healing process. I will help you in discovering your own wellness touchstones that will assist in promoting your unique therapeutic needs. Some of the therapeutic interventions and modalities that I base my work on include client/person centered therapy, expressive arts therapy, substance abuse and addictions counseling, mindfulness based approaches, trauma focused therapy, men’s work, and psychodynamic theory. As your therapist, I will assist you in your personal process of healing and self-discovery. I look forward to hearing from you!
Therapy for individuals and couples through a trauma-informed lens in a comfortable and casual space.
I specialize in relationship issues, breakups, and complex trauma processing, and I work with adult individuals and couples. Folks who struggle with boundaries, expressing needs, avoidance, anxiety, or managing conflict find our work rewarding. I'm especially passionate about supporting BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and highly sensitive folks. I help clients process distress, foster meaningful connections, and build resiliency. I’m a humanistic, strengths-based therapist, which means I believe that you already have what you need within you to thrive. We'll work together to heal past wounds and uncover the authentic self that lies beneath. I'm trauma-informed and attachment-oriented, and often use IFS and EFT interventions. I focus on creating experiences in session where you can connect to your body, emotions, and parts of yourself you’ve kept hidden, even from yourself. If you’re journeying as a couple, this may look like learning to connect in more vulnerable ways. Reaching out to a new therapist can feel daunting, and I get how important it is to find someone who feels right for you. I’m here to help you figure out what you really need and how we can make that happen together. I’m excited to meet you and help you find the trust, confidence, and peace of mind you deserve.
Trauma can be an invisible wound that can affect many parts of our lives we don’t even realize. I work with clients with depression, anxiety, adoption triad concerns, and trauma-related issues. Change can be hard. Having the courage to reach out and discuss your inner pain and anxiety is the first step. I want to help you work through your past painful experiences, feelings of shame, and traumatic events so that you can create a new life path. I believe each person has their own pace, and am willing to find therapies and strategies that work for you. My approach is open-minded, trauma-based, cognitive, and holistic. I started my career in psychology and counseling when I experienced a suicide in my family. It gave me the courage to make changes for myself, and help people around me who were also suffering grief, loss, and depression. I’m an advocate of mental health issues, a proud adoptee, and a supporter of the arts. **I only accept insurance in the state of North Carolina**
