I approach the therapeutic process with the belief that therapy is simply a human helping a human. By offering an objective and judgement free setting, my hope is to provide a space that offers freedom to share and feel without hesitation. I am a masters-level clinician; I earned a master of science degree in counseling and psychology from Troy University in 2016. I'm a client centered counselor with a passion to help empower individuals to gain knowledge, skills, and tools to work through their presenting problems. I aim to build a therapeutic alliance with my clients and create a safe, judgment-free atmosphere with the hope that they are able to openly explore their thoughts and feelings. I believe in the power of knowledge and it's ability to impact healing and frequently apply psychoeducation into treatment. I'm a strength-based therapist and my overall theoretical orientation is integrative; it commonly includes utilization of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) as well as behavioral and solution-focused techniques. I enjoy working with individuals who suffer from anxiety, depression, adjustment issues, relationship issues, and various life challenges. I'm happy to currently serve individuals 18+. I'm licensed in NC and SC. I'm also an out-of-state provider for the state of Florida allowing the option for telehealth for clients located in Florida at the time of service. My counseling style is warm, creative, and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I consider myself an eclectic therapist, drawing from a number of different approaches, based on the presenting concern of the client "in front of me." I borrow heavily from Cognitive Behavioral Theory, which teaches individuals to challenge and change unhelpful cognitive distortions (e.g. thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes) and behaviors, which can leas to improved emotional regulation along with the development of effective and helpful coping strategies to address concerns and whole life wellness. I grew up here in North Carolina, hailing from Fayetteville. I obtained my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Queens University of Charlotte in 2012 where I started out working with at-risk youth in community based mental health. I now have over five years post-grad experience providing individual and group therapy. I continued providing a full range of services that helped individuals of various ages and families overcome addiction and mental health concerns along the way. Since graduating with my Masters of Social Work in 2016 from UNC Charlotte, I have worked primarily with college aged students within university counseling centers. I also enjoy supporting future generations in our mental health field by serving as an adjunct professor at UNC Charlotte since 2021. I enjoy working with tweens (12 and up), teens, young adults (18-24) to adults 24+. I celebrate you for taking the first step in this journey towards change - be it big or small. I will be here to support and empower you along the way! I look forward to working with you. Talk soon!

You may be the one who keeps it together for everyone else, always striving, always overanalyzing. But inside, you’re feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or not quite “enough.” Whether you’re navigating anxiety, struggling in your relationships, or feeling stuck in cycles of self-doubt, therapy can offer a space to breathe, reflect, and rebuild. I help teens and adults understand their inner world and reconnect with themselves. My style is warm, collaborative, and grounded in real conversation. I’ll meet you where you are, and together we’ll explore what’s keeping you stuck and how to move forward. I integrate tools from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), attachment-based therapy, and experiential therapy. Therapy with me isn’t about perfection, it’s about creating a space where you can be honest and supported without judgment. You’ll gain insight, learn how to manage your emotions with more confidence, and develop more secure relationships. If you're feeling unsure where to start, that’s okay. You don’t have to have it all figured out before reaching out.
Are you feeling stuck in unhelpful patterns- perhaps comparing yourself to others, lashing out at loved ones, feeling unmotivated or unfocused at work? Our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are messengers, offering us information on areas that might need addressing. Therapy is a great place to begin that process. Whether you're unsure of what is behind these patterns, or you've been struggling with anxiety, ADHD, grief, or big life changes, I offer a collaborative space where we can tackle these challenges in a way that feels authentic to you. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all therapy or “quick fixes.” Instead, I offer a thoughtful, steady space for self-understanding, self-compassion, and sustainable change. I pull from several modalities to best suit your needs- whether that's exploring how your past is influencing you now or practicing new tools to help you navigate today's stressors. If my approach speaks to you, I invite you to reach out for a free 10 min phone consultation where I can answer any questions and we can determine if we're a good fit to work together!
Meaningful relationships help maintain mental and physical health and can be an antidote to stress. When our core relationships are struggling or when we're struggling to build core relationships, the stress and loneliness can permeate all aspects of our lives. Relational stress and loneliness are reasons many people seek the support of a therapist. Through therapy, clients can explore relationship patterns and barriers preventing them from making and maintaining meaningful and warm connection with others. Treatment can include treating symptoms of social anxiety, exploring discomfort with intimacy, navigating conflict, setting boundaries, and voicing needs. In addition to individual therapy, family and couple therapy can provide insight into system dynamics. Clients learn to recognize and change negative cycles and build deeper and more positive bonds. If you are dissatisfied with your relationships and are ready to work toward change, meeting with a therapist is a great place to start. If you’re not sure if individual, couple, or family therapy is the right choice, a free consultation with a therapist to discuss options can be helpful. If you think I might be a good fit, please reach out.
