Today more than ever people are experiencing depression, anxiety, isolation, high levels of stress, and a profound heaviness as they try to juggle unrealistic expectations of their relationships, career, and life. I am passionate about ending this cycle by giving my clients the opportunity to heal and grow. I work to provide a space where my clients can work through their wounds and obstacles toward a life and identity that permeates worthiness and embodies strength and empowerment. As a therapist, I walk alongside my clients as they courageously embark on their healing journey. I help them identify roadblocks that are preventing them from fully living the life they wish to live and achieving their goals. I have worked in the mental health field for over 10 years.I have worked with teens, adults, and parents. My clinical framework is grounded in attachment theory and in understanding the impact that relationships and experiences have on how we view ourselves and the world. I am trained in various clinical modalities and use the modalities that best meet my client's needs. I focus on creating an environment that inspires hope and feels collaborative and welcoming. In my practice, I focus on helping individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, stress, burn out, substance abuse, grief, relationship dynamic issues, parenting issues, self-esteem issues, and life transitions. My work also includes parent coaching and life coaching.
You are enough. Creating or adjusting relationships can be based on authentic self-expression, free from fear of negative judgment. Support offered addresses assertiveness/conflict resolution skills, college student adjustment to adulthood, major life or career decisions, self-esteem, mood irritability, and unresolved childhood trauma. You can expect a welcoming atmosphere to address these and similar concerns, and feedback to develop coping skills and identify resources to progress in your stated mental health goals. I work with adults online individually and in person for groups. I specialize in the use of EMDR, Somatic Psychotherapy, DBT, CBT, and or Solution Focused Brief Therapy for the unique needs of each client to address posttraumatic stress, life transitions, relationship issues, and anxiety symptoms that interfere with completing responsibilities or interests. We must partner together to help you gain insight into your own experience and life. You’ll often hear me guiding clients to their own answers through questions like: What do you actually need in this moment? Is there another way to express yourself that feels authentic to you? What are you missing out in life because of this avoidance strategy? Is there anything familiar to you about that reaction/response? Go Inward, Gain Strength One of my strengths is meeting the person where they are in their lives. This has come naturally to me and has been reinforced throughout my career as a helping professional. It is incredibly powerful to work with my clients to create change and witness them build confidence in themselves. If someone is super motivated and ready to work through their stuff, I can do that. If someone isn’t there yet and they need to problem solve marriage issues and don’t want to dig into the past, I can support that too. Therapy with me is a collaborative process. You determine the pace, the goal, the direction. My passion is utilizing Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) as an intervention to help you go inward and find your solutions. You are the best expert in your life and I urge you to understand and trust your gut reaction. EMDR is an intervention that is particularly effective for helping individuals who have experienced distressing events; and there is strong data supporting the use of EMDR to alleviate symptoms of OCD, suicidal thoughts, depression, anxiety, and shifting negative core beliefs. My experience also includes working with individuals who have experienced trauma. This includes individuals who use or have used substances to cope. I have worked as an in-home therapist to children and families. This experience provided an up close look at the family system and the impact of trauma on that system. With Awareness, Comes Growth You can generate happiness and contentment from within yourself. It is possible to be calm and set boundaries with others. You can learn to identify the things that have shaped you and understand how this impacts your automatic responses. Allow me to partner with you to gain awareness into yourself, validate your instincts and grow your confidence.

I help teenagers and adults who notice behaviors or tendencies about themselves that aren’t helpful. I specialize in navigating and overcoming traumas, such as wounds from childhood and/or religious experiences. Maybe you often feel out of place, like you’re a burden, or so overwhelmed that you’re starting to lose motivation. I want to help you break free from the opinions of others, from self doubt, or the fear of being “too much.” You are capable of knowing your worth and being seen and loved by the people around you. My goal as a therapist is to develop a relationship with you different from any other you’ve had in your life. My values are trust, honesty and vulnerability. What I find unique about the therapeutic relationship is that I can show up in your life unlike anyone else, free of expectations, never being mad at you, and never once judging.

Many of the students I work best with share a common thread: they feel overwhelmed by the transition of college life and want a safe place to sort through it all. Some are managing anxiety, stress, or burnout from balancing classes, work, and relationships. Others are navigating questions of identity, independence, or self-confidence. What they all have in common is a desire for a supportive space where they can be honest about what’s hard and learn tools to feel more grounded. My approach is down-to-earth and collaborative, so if you’re looking for someone who understands the challenges of student life and wants to walk with you through them, you might find a good fit here.

Adjusting to a challenging academic and social environment is an exciting and often daunting prospect , drawing upon one's resilience and creative faculties. I especially enjoy working with energetic and open minded clients just setting out on life's journey. My job is simply to see your world through your eyes to the best of my ability and together discover your unique solutions to challenges in this most pivotal period of life. I subscribe to an eclectic mix of theoretical styles such as Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy as well as EMDR to address trauma memories and development of resources to set your path to success in whatever direction you value. Sometimes distractions and poor choices get in the way of our values. It is then that therapy can be most helpful.
Let me put it simply: being a college student is hard. There are more expectations than ever placed on young adults today and it's a time of tremendous change, transition, and instability. Emotions are a normal part of being human, but sometimes those emotions seem so overwhelming that you might start to feel out of control and alone. It can feel as though no one understands you and no one is really on your side. It might even feel as though your friendships or other relationships are more stressful than they are helpful. That's where I come in. My goal is to provide a safe, stable space and support for you to navigate all of the difficult relationships, changes, and challenges you're experiencing during this time in life. You are not alone!
Therapy is for everyone. My office is a comfortable and relaxed space for people of all identities, backgrounds, and abilities. It is your right be authentic in your expression and self-exploration. I want you to feel safe, supported, and heard. You will determine the direction we take when exploring what brings you into therapy. My goal is to empower you to make lasting change. I am incredibly passionate about working with neurodiverse adults, clients experiencing anxiety or depression, grief, life transitions and experiences, relational issues, and everyday stressors.
People I work with often are starting out in therapy or interested in moving towards trauma work. If you're interested in learning how to slow it down, use mindfulness, or feel more connected to your body, I utilize narrative and somatic techniques to help people reclaim their peace, energy, and rest. As an Asian-Mexican-American psychotherapist, I enjoy helping people learn more about connecting to ancestry, spirituality, community healing and peer support resources that remind us we are all connected. When I'm not doing therapy I love going to the beach, writing, camping/hiking/backpacking, and traveling.
