Feeling stuck? Questioning whether therapy is right for you—or worth it? You’re not alone. Starting therapy can feel intimidating, but it’s also one of the most empowering steps you can take toward understanding yourself and creating meaningful change. I take a collaborative, down-to-earth approach to therapy, grounded in empathy, honesty, and a judgment-free space. I incorporate creative and flexible therapeutic techniques to meet you where you are and help you build insight, resilience, and confidence. Since 2012, I’ve worked with children, adolescents, and young adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, family stress, substance use, eating disorders, and life transitions. I have a strong understanding of the unique pressures students face and aim to provide support that feels both practical and relatable. Reaching out can be hard—but you don’t have to figure things out on your own. We’ll take this step together.
As students or professionals, it is more common than we recognize to be depleted by our daily routine, school or family; to experience self doubt, become overwhelmed or to live with ongoing stress/trauma. Without an opportunity for mental restoration we can become burnt out or disconnected by persistent feelings of depression, anxiety, frustration, apathy, grief or even chronic pain and illness. My aim for each client is to help you develop a greater sense of self-awareness, balance and control over your life. Even if you aren't quite sure of what it is you need - we'll figure it out together. I use a mixture of mixture of traditional therapeutic approaches and Nature Based Therapy (NBT), done either outdoors or in combination with telehealth. This could look as simple as a walk in a park or with more, immersive sensory experiences in nature to get your body in motion and feeling more alive. The ultimate goal is to reduce stress and increase your social, emotional, and physical wellbeing.
You deserve to feel better. Our interdisciplinary approach includes relational and psychodynamic paradigms, alternative treatments and arts based practices. We are multi-culturally oriented therapists using multi-method based approaches to: empower and cultivate resiliency; manage depression and anxiety; understand the impact of trauma, abuse and neglect across the lifespan; better understand the impact of oppression on your intersectional lived experience; examine psychodynamic issues; recognize transpersonal and spirituality influences; and leverage cross-cultural and transnational experiences. Our whole-istic approach works with you to co-create a safer clinical environment and therapeutic relationship that supports emotional, psychological and spiritual growth. Services available in English, Portuguese, Spanish. Telehealth only.
Are you feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or uncertain as you navigate current struggles? Are you finding yourself caught in patterns that feel hard to break or struggling to manage the weight of day-to-day stress? You don’t have to navigate this alone. I work with clients who are seeking a supportive, nonjudgmental space to better understand themselves, build effective coping skills, and feel more grounded in their lives. I also welcome clients who wish to incorporate a Christian or faith-based perspective into their work. I am also fluent in English and Spanish and provide support in your preferred language. I provide a compassionate and nonjudgmental space where clients can feel supported as they navigate life’s challenges and work toward improved mental health and overall well-being. I specialize in working with anxiety, depression, stress management, trauma, life transitions, adjustment difficulties, relationship concerns, and women’s issues. If you are ready to take that next step, I would be honored to connect and work alongside you. Together, we will focus on moving toward growth and healing.

AREAS OF EXPERTISE: * LAW STUDENT MENTAL HEALTH AND WELL-BEING * ANY STUDENT COPING WITH ILLNESS/BEREAVEMENT There is widespread recognition of significant mental health challenges affecting law students, especially depression, anxiety, and substance use. As an attorney and psychotherapist, I understand the unique stressors and pressures of law school and the legal profession. For many years, I managed the high demands of big law and a federal judicial clerkship. I spent more than a decade in higher education leading a law school mental health and wellness program, counseling law students and alumni with career and professional concerns, and teaching first- and third-year law courses. Through individually tailored therapy, I help clients cultivate healthy coping mechanisms to navigate the many demands of the legal field while prioritizing mental well-being. My successful approach integrating evidence-based therapeutic interventions with law-related concepts and experiences has been a game changer for clients. Additionally, as a former national research and healthcare leader, patient advocate and caregiver for 25+ years, I help individuals and their loved ones navigate the challenges and opportunities presented to those living with chronic, life altering or terminal illness. For those dealing with bereavement and grief, I help clients cope with the many facets of loss and move towards healing, acceptance, and finding a renewed sense of meaning in life.
In helping teens, and young adults, I employ a combination of compassion, creativity, warmth, understanding, and humor with clinically proven treatment methods. During my 20+ years of experience I have found that a good collaborative therapeutic relationship combined with skill-based strategies and techniques results in positive and lasting changes. I endeavor to create a nonjudgemental and safe therapuetic environment for my clients. My work is informed by recent advances in both neuroscience and psychology, and draws from Internal Family Systems, Positive Psychology, Solution Focused Therapy, and Cognitive Behvaioral Therapy.

I place the therapeutic relationship at the heart of our work together which I approach with curiosity and empathy. I am most interested in what your unique experience is, and I aim to listen deeply on our road toward understanding. A safe-enough space will help us to transform your patterns of experience that interfere with your ability to be compassionate with yourself, to build meaningful relationships, and to work and play creatively, in other words, to live a fulfilling life. I am humbled by the complexity of human existence and feel honored to work with individuals from different racial and cultural backgrounds, sexual and gender identities, as well as spiritual and religious affiliations. In addition to my private practice, I am an Instructor in Psychology at Harvard Medical School (part-time) and supervise psychology interns and psychiatrist fellows. I served as the co-chair of the American Psychological Association’s (APA) Society for Psychoanalysis and Psychoanalytic Psychology Graduate Student Committee helping young clinicians explore and develop their professional identities.
Have you found yourself struggling to understand or manage your emotions? Feeling lost, stressed, overwhelmed, or empty, and don’t know where to begin? Improving your mental well-being can be an intimidating process, but you don’t have to do it alone. Whether you are having trouble managing your urges, thoughts, or behaviors, experiencing grief, relationship or identity issues, or just feeling like you've lost a sense of peace and purpose somewhere along the way, my personalized, integrative, and trauma-informed approach to psychotherapy can help.
Life often comes at you from many angles, and sometimes the weight of change, anxiety, or difficult memories can make it hard to feel like yourself. With more than six years of experience as a licensed mental health counselor, my work is built around helping adolescents and adults navigate life's transitions, work through relationship issues, find balance, and reconnect with who they know themselves to be. Specializing in life adjustments that have often been created from feelings of anxiety and even potential traumatic experiences/memories, I understand how deeply personal and layered these experiences can be. Whether you're processing a major shift or working through something that has lingered for years, you deserve care that meets you where you are. My commitment to you goes beyond the session: I am dedicated to consistently evolving and growing with you each step of the way, while also focusing on continuing education to recognize and treat the various personal and life stressors taking place in the world around us. In our work together, the focus is entirely on you, because what you're experiencing, and related symptoms, deserve to be treated. Using evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and psychodynamic therapy, we'll move toward self-healing in a way that feels grounded and sustainable. Support, motivation, and accountability are at the heart of how I practice. You can also expect therapeutic homework from time to time, with real-world opportunities to practice the skills we explore in session. Bringing those tools into your daily life is, I believe, one of the most powerful ways to set the tone and get us back to where we want to be. My path to becoming a therapist, much like life itself, has not always been linear and clear. Growing up in a divorced household, change and adjustment were constants. It was through my own experience in therapy that I discovered something remarkable: healing is genuinely possible, and with the right support, so is transformation. That discovery became the foundation of my practice. What was given to me through that work is exactly what I want to offer you. Change is achievable, on any level, and you don't have to find your way there alone. When I'm not in session, you'll likely find me cheering on a favorite team, getting lost in a psychological thriller, or spending time with family.
Many people enter therapy concerned that they will have to make dramatic changes in their lives to find relief. I believe that therapy is not dramatically changing who we are, but rather looking at how our perceptions of ourselves and others create unfulfilling experiences. I think my role as a therapist is to work with each individual to identify their strengths and enhance what is already working for them while examining the patterns that keep them from living life to its fullest. In my experience as a therapist I have helped many children, adolescents and adults overcome sever anxiety and depression and long-standing relationship issues. I also have expertise with families struggling with ongoing divorce and custody issues. I draw from several modalities of therapy, fitting the intervention with the needs of the individual.
Feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected? I help students build confidence, set boundaries, and create authentic, fulfilling lives. Please reach out to chat more and I look forward to hearing from you.
