I have over 20 years experience in the human service field. My passion is providing compassionate support for those struggling with life's challenges in a safe and non-judgmental environment; assisting individuals in addressing what is troubling them; whether it is marital conflict, depression, anxiety, relationship conflict, trauma, anger management, serious mental illness, etc.; helping them to achieve their personal goals; effecting positive change and working toward desired outcomes. I incorporate principles from the Christian faith for those who desire that but work with all people/faiths indiscriminately. I love working with college-aged individuals; helping them to navigate the difficulties associated with entering adulthood successfully. I am closely located to Canisius, Medaille, UB South and Buffalo State colleges. Public transportation is available: the bus stops in front of the office and the Humboldt/Hospital Metrorail station is a block away. I also derive great joy in assisting married couples in developing more effective ways of communicating with the end goal of resolving conflict and enjoying a more satisfying relationship where both parties feel valued and connected to each other in a deep way.

Hello, I'm a mental health counselor licensed in the state of NY. I have worked in community mental health since 2015 in both clinic and primary care medical settings. My clients have presented a wide range of concerns, including: depression, anxiety, OCD, grief, substance abuse, capitalism, fascism, and adjustment to life after incarceration. Regardless of what issues bring you to therapy, I work from the assumption that YOU are not the problem. Rather, the situation is the problem, and we work together to transform it. This process often involves shifting your view, giving yourself grace, and deepening compassion for yourself. Before graduate school, I was a community organizer and activist addressing issues of social, ecological, and economic concern; my undergraduate degrees are in Community Health and Peace and Justice Studies. I often use a systems perspective to address problems, and I have experience working with trauma related to systemic harm and oppression. I strive to be supportive and curious in my role as a counselor. Working in this field means that I learn (and unlearn) every day. I am honored to walk alongside the people who invite me into their lives, and I do my best to offer honesty and compassion in a safe and respectful way. I value broad access to psychotherapy and gladly offer a sliding fee scale.

Hi! I have over 15 years of practice providing therapeutic and habilitative supports to people with different needs and have had the honor of providing psychotherapy to children, adults and families over the last 8 years. I came to the mental health field through my work with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). I found that people can thrive when linked with the right supports, including service professionals who are dedicated, caring, empathic and invested. I find joy in supporting a person to find out what's getting them "stuck" and learning how to get un-stuck. This includes exploring ways to connect with other people in their lives, finding ways to increase self-compassion and engage in active problem solving, by finding creative and interesting solutions. This includes helping people try new things, while acknowledging that failure can happen (and often does!) that serves as an opportunity for continued growth and is part of the learning process.

Men need help too. Are you struggling with big transitions in your life? Having difficulty calming intense emotions or just struggling to navigate the day to day? Life can be filled with challenges and disappointments that impact our state of mind, (our brain?), and our capacity to manage everyday tasks. If this is you, I would love to help you learn ways to understand and cope with these big and challenging moments. Therapy is a healing process and together we can process emotions, create small, realistic changes, and help you become more confident in everyday life. My aim is to create a comfortable and accepting environment, and a space for you to feel supported. Throughout this process we will also explore how our brain and mind are impacted by significant events in our lives. This approach will allow us to redefine not only how you view yourself but even the world around you! With the incorporation of mindfulness, meditation, and a person-centered approach we can take this journey together. Please feel free to contact me to schedule a free 15 minute phone consultation or to answer any questions. You are never alone on this journey. I look forward to hearing from you.

The name 'Winding Path' is a classic metaphor for life - the way in which one's life goes is often not linear or predictable. Often, people find themselves on a path that they both did not see coming nor are sure of where it will lead. This is what brings many people to therapy. I specifically gear my practice to help those with stress, trauma, family conflict, and symptoms that arise with indecision. The ethos of my practice is that I will meet clients where they are and walk with them on their own winding path, while using the therapeutic tools garnered from years of training to aim toward lessening their unease and increasing their clarity.

One of my favorite things a patient has said to me is - “Thank you for being part of my journey”. That’s what life is to me – a journey we are all on together. What I want for everyone is that they can overcome any barriers they may have so that they can become their whole selves and live life to its fullest. I work with many kinds of people from all walks of life on issues like neurodiversity, autism, anxiety, ADHD, family history, relationships, and couples’ concerns. I also have expertise working with college students, international students, young adults, and couples after working and training at the University of Rochester counseling center. I have done training specifically to provide therapy through an anti-racist lens and continue to reflect on my own whiteness. I use a mixed relational approach pulling from person centered therapy, existential therapy, DBT and more. I am committed to providing a safe, sex positive, non-judgmental space for trust and growth to happen. Are you looking for change? Are you ready to challenge unhelpful thought patterns and uncover your potential? Then give me a call or send an email and we can set up a consultation. Let’s start the conversation!

Welcome! Taking the first steps towards finding a therapist you "click" with can be intimidating (and exhausting) so I give you tons of credit for getting this far. I feel honored to work with my clients because I know how hard it can be to open up about personal things. I believe in the healing power of a strong therapeutic relationship, a relationship where you feel truly "seen" and understood. I like to think of a therapist's role as a supportive, steady companion who walks next to you on your path. While I certainly do not have all the answers, I do have plenty of skills and experience that might be helpful along the way. Part of what I love about being a therapist is hearing people's rich stories of not only heartache and struggle, but resilience and healing. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe enough to talk about those deeply personal experiences. If it sounds like we might "click", feel free to reach out to schedule an intro call. I look forward to it!

Are you struggling with mood disorders, anxiety issues, OCD, or eating disorders? I provide mental health care for adults with a multimodal approach, ensuring relevant and informed patient care personalized to your specific lifestyle, wants, and needs. You are a unique individual with your own neurobiochemical makeup, which is why we work together to create a holistic treatment plan that you feel is realistic and sustainable. My specialty is in taking in a functional approach to psychiatry, with goals to discover the root cause of symptoms, provide options for treatment, and offer education for an informed therapeutic journey. I look forward to exploring the best options for you in our work together. Working together, you can expect a collaborative, therapeutic relationship, nonjudgmental environment, and creative solutions. I believe in taking a holistic approach while practicing with current evidence-based treatments, incorporating medications, psychotherapy, lifestyle counseling, and functional/nutritional psychiatry. My style of psychotherapy is integrative, combining Mindfulness, psychodynamic, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy concepts/practices. Before becoming a Psych NP, I practiced as an RN in numerous medical specialties and discovered a passion for psychiatry over time. I saw how mental health was not equally prioritized to physical health, and believe it is all connected. This experience allows me to bring a well-rounded medical background to patient care while addressing psychiatric needs, contributing to holistic treatment.

With over 7 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, and adults navigating trauma, adversity and other life stressors, I have witnessed that trauma and stress are not simply our thoughts but deeply embedded in our minds and bodies, causing impact to the whole person. This understanding has informed my clinical approach through helping individuals regulate their stress response and nervous system so they can feel more in control of their emotions, thoughts, and reactions. My therapeutic approach is rooted in the belief that change is possible through safe and healthy connections and feeling seen and heard.

As a mental health counselor, I work with adolescents and young adults as they move through life's transitions, helping them manage anxiety and depression triggers, process the changes they’re experiencing, and find healthier ways to understand and manage their emotions. I’m passionate about helping patients build confidence and self-esteem along the way. Reliability, respect, and trust guide how I show up as a supportive and trustworthy clinician. I look forward to helping you achieve your goals and learn how to manage the challenges you may face along the way. I specialize in using CBT, or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, to build coping skills and strategies for managing the stressors that come with different stages of life, along with Motivational Interviewing, or MI, to help you find what motivates you and use that motivation to make changes in your life. This approach is collaborative, empathetic, and pragmatic, and tailored to your unique story. Creating a strong therapeutic alliance is also central to how I work, because I believe it can be key to successfully attaining goals in therapy. It matters to me that patients feel safe and free of judgment, and that is what I hope to provide as your clinician. Together, we can build a calm and supportive environment where you feel comfortable working toward your goals. My path to becoming a therapist began with my own journey through therapy, experiencing its effects and the support that therapy can provide to those who are engaged in it. I wanted to offer that same support and comfort to others, creating a safe and empathetic environment where patients could work toward their goals. This experience deepened my commitment to providing consistent, supportive, warm, and welcoming care. Carrying that experience forward, I bring the idea that each person and each session hold its own story. In our sessions, I hope to learn your story and support you in reviewing your previous chapters while creating a plan to help you write the next one. I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, whether we're headed to the beach, a concert, or a new restaurant — I'm always up for a new adventure. Sporting events are another favorite, especially cheering on women's sports and the PWHL. On calmer days, you'll find me watching movies of all kinds, reading books, or spending time with my dog.
