My name is Paul Radel and I am a clinical social worker with over 15 years of experience working with individuals to address issues and maximize their potential. I live in Eugene, Oregon but practice soley through telehealth software called intakeQ which offers secure and confidential communication and hosts therapy sessions.

You may feel stuck in painful relationship patterns, overwhelmed by anxiety or self-criticism, emotionally disconnected, or weighed down by experiences that continue to impact your present. Perhaps you find yourself overthinking relationships, feeling unsure of your needs, struggling to feel fully understood, or longing to feel more grounded and connected in your life. Many of the clients I work with are seeking deeper self-understanding, more fulfilling relationships, and the freedom to live more authentically rather than from survival patterns. I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, attachment wounds, relationship difficulties, identity concerns, and emotional disconnection. My approach is rooted in psychodynamic therapy, helping you develop greater self-awareness, flexibility, and trust in yourself by exploring the experiences that shape how you approach the world. I view therapy as a collaborative and compassionate space where your story can be explored with curiosity, honesty, and care. Over time, many clients begin to feel more grounded in themselves, more secure in relationships, and more able to move through life with greater clarity, authenticity, and intention.
You don’t have to wait for your grief to be over to start living your life again. Whether it be the death of a loved one, the end of a relationship, estrangement from a family member or a major life transition; loss changes us. We all navigate grief and loss in our own unique ways. Grief doesn’t end, it evolves. And it can teach us about ourselves, our courage and what matters most in our life. The good news is that it’s possible to find joy and live a meaningful life with grief. You don’t have to navigate your grief and loss alone. We live in a death and pain avoidant society and frequently our friends and family don’t know how to support someone who has experienced a loss. Having a skilled, compassionate and trusted grief and loss counselor can help you integrate your grief and move towards reinvesting in your life.
I believe all people are capable of change and growth. Deciding to come to counseling can be scary, or feel strange at first, but we were created to be in relationship with others. I come alongside my clients to help them identify areas where change is needed and we work together to find solutions in a safe space. Safe, secure relationships are where growth happens.
My primary focus is on helping individuals and couples who are dealing with the impact of such issues as ADHD/ASD/AuDHD, anxiety, depression, recovery from narcissistic abuse, and PMDD. The therapy I offer is active and focused on creating change in specific areas, established by the client. I customize therapy to the individual or couple, using a variety of approaches, including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, to assist the client in boundary setting/holding, improved communication skills, and healthier emotion regulation. My goal is to help people see how the various pieces of their lives have shaped their responses, so that they can connect with self-compassion, gain insight around where they are getting stuck, and learn new beliefs and skills. If you are looking for support navigating how to create change for yourself, I hope to hear from you!

Hello. I have extensive experience working with college students and the challenges they face. I worked in university counseling centers for all my career before going into private practice. My approach is primarily relational, yet integrating practical skills is integral to my philosophy of change. A therapeutic relationship is fundamental to effectively working together in therapy. Relationships with ourselves and others are the foundation of creating security and joy, for taking risks and creating success, and for becoming aligned with a set of values and ethics that bring meaning and purpose to our lives. Challenges are best met when we are in relationship and understand how to be relational across domains. I am grateful for the opportunity to join you in working towards any personal, professional, educational, or spiritual/existential goals.
