Licensed Mental Health Counselor
In-Person & Online
Philadelphia, PA

My name is Eve Buck (she/her/hers), and I am a licensed Mental Health Counselor. I work with individuals and couples living in New York and Pennsylvania at my virtual practice. I completed my master’s degree in mental health counseling from Teachers College, Columbia University. My previous training includes working with undergraduate and graduate students at the Fordham University counseling center, as well as community practices where I have worked with culturally diverse clients from all walks of life. I particularly enjoy working with young adults and senior adults and have specialized training in therapy for people who identify as Latinx. It is through the experiences and lessons I have learned along my work and personal journeys that I hope to support your path toward overcoming your personal struggles and finding greater fulfillment. I pride myself on utilizing a multicultural approach to therapy while bringing in teachings and principles of multiple disciplines, drawing mainly from psychodynamic therapy among other evidence-based practices. It is this multidisciplinary approach that I believe best serves clients, allowing space for present-minded problem solving as well as exploration into a client’s past, relationships, and emotional experience. Our work together can be tailored based on your life story and experiences and what you hope to gain from therapy. Everyone’s therapy journey is different. Whether it’s working through trauma or beginning a path towards better self-understanding, I strive to provide an open, non-judgmental, and productive space where people can find relief from distressing symptoms as well as develop a stronger sense of self through insight and reflection. Just like each person is unique, each treatment is different and adapted to who you are and what you need. I recognize the wide breadth of human experience and I bring this knowledge with me to best meet your needs. Life can be difficult and confusing, but as your therapist I will be there to empathize with and support you through it.

Licensed Professional Counselor
Online
Philadelphia, PA

I'm a trauma therapist offering online therapy to college students throughout Pennsylvania. My specialty is IFS-informed EMDR: EMDR helps your brain reprocess painful memories so they lose their grip on the present, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) brings compassion to the parts of you that learned to protect you in hard times. Together, they let us work through trauma at a pace that feels safe — without having to retell your story over and over. Many of the students I work with are carrying more than a heavy course load: childhood wounds, anxiety that won't switch off, depression, ADHD, or the pressure of holding it all together far from home. Therapy with me is a place where all of that can be looked at without judgment. I believe we can let go of our past and accept ourselves as we are — and that self-acceptance is the first step toward change. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor, certified in EMDR (EMDRIA) and trained in IFS (IFS Institute) and DBT, with a master's in Counseling Psychology from Temple University and eight years of practice. Sessions are $185 with sliding-scale spots available, and I provide superbills for out-of-network reimbursement. I offer a free 20-minute consultation — reach out and let's see if we're a good fit.

If you are wondering why you may be attracting the same type of partner or repeating the same types of losses in your relationships or friendships, then I am here to help you through it. Working through your attachment and unlearning some behaviors picked up in childhood can be done. Goals are meant to work in small attainable steps. While I am intuitive, I like to keep it real with you. What that means is that I will work with you in a direction that is suited to your needs. Healing isn’t easy & taking the first step of seeking a therapist takes a lot of courage. Healing involves being patient & kind with yourself, along with stepping out of your comfort zone in order to talk about tough things so you can grow. Often in life we are faced with many challenges and feel like we are just stuck. Transitioning into college can be a difficult process but with the help of a therapist you can work towards having a more balanced life. My role as your therapist is to help you sort out these emotions and experiences that have you feeling like you are hitting a wall. Together we will work to identify unhealthy patterns and develop skills to help you take control of your life. I offer my clients a person-centered approach, recognizing that the client is the expert of their life. This means that the client is the driver of their sessions and I am the guide. I have extensive experience working with people who experience panic, anxiety, and depression. I also specialize in trauma and I am trained in TFCBT and EMDR. Finding a therapist who you are comfortable with and feel supported by is an important part of the healing process. I look forward to embarking on this journey with you. If you are ready to take this next step, please reach out today.

Hello and welcome! I’m Dr. Larsen Avnet and I’m a clinical psychologist licensed in Pennsylvania. I am passionate about helping people better understand themselves. I focus on helping people understand their emotional experiences to create change and meet their goals. I aim to help clients understand their emotions, body, and relationships within a space where clients feel seen, heard, and free to be their authentic selves as we work towards healing. My approach looks at how a person’s biology, mental health, social resources, and early relationships all come together to shape how we see the world and care for our emotional well-being. If you are struggling to understand yourself, feeling disconnected from others, experiencing conflict or challenges in your relationship, having a hard time with transitions, stress, or life changes, I am here to walk alongside you as you find your way.

I believe the relationship between client and therapist is what is most important in the therapeutic process. Feeling safe and comfortable is what will allow you to challenge yourself to be vulnerable. Building trust together is what makes the works we will do transformative. My 19 years of work experience thus far has prepared me in various ways to be a support to others. Most recently, I have worked directly with the college student population at a local university. My efforts with college-age students have reminded me just how difficult the transition between high school and the world, between youth and adulthood, can be. Navigating those decisions, molding a new identity, and learning about responsibility: these challenges require empathy and encouragement. My focus is a time limited therapy—understanding the root of the issues occurring and offering tools and support to ultimately make myself obsolete. I work out of an emotion focused lens, offering EMDR to manage and treat those destructive, rooted themes that arise in one’s life. I believe in the work I do. I believe change is possible because I have seen it, and I have lived it. There is nothing more exciting for me than to witness another’s curative process. Congratulations on taking this step towards joy and serenity, towards a more conscious, self-assured way of living.
