Many of my clients feel overwhelmed with life's stressors and are looking for support and healthy coping skills. I also work with clients who have experienced trauma. I have provided counseling for survivors of sexual abuse for many years. Creating a safe space where clients can come without judgment and building an authentic relationship is my priority. Healing looks different for each person. I encourage my clients to decide what they need and then work alongside them to support their goals.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the states of Pennsylvania, Delaware and New Jersey. I graduated from Widener University where I earned a master’s in Social Work. While at Widener, I completed a certificate in the treatment of trauma. I began my career at Ambrosia Treatment Center, a substance abuse disorder facility. Over the past five years I have worked in all levels of care within the substance use field. I created a program to treat substance use and eating disorders concurrently. After this program I began building a private practice where I work primarily with individuals who have co-occurring eating disorders and substance use. Outside of Guide to Wellness, I help treatment centers across the country implement veterans programs at their facilities. I use a collaborative approach in treatment. I like to meet clients where they are in their lives and work collaboratively with the individual to create an individualized treatment experience. My approach draws heavily from ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy), CBT and exposure therapy. I work to create a trusting, non-judgmental relationship with the individual. I see myself as someone who presents opportunities to the individual and allow them to be the decision maker. I feel my role is to help the individual see the whole picture in their choices.

The pandemic pushed many of us to take a step back from our lives and reflect. Once I realized I would be teaching and providing counseling online from home, it was important to me to create a physical space that provided the comfort I needed to be a support to my students and clients. As a nature lover, I set up my new home office with my desk facing my back yard. I began to notice all of the birds that frequented my yard and put up bird feeders to lure my backyard friends closer to my view. I quickly began to realize how much I enjoy watching the birds; not only are they beautiful, they each seem to have their own unique personality and behavior. Each day, I spend time watching the "regulars" - the house finches, goldfinches, and cardinals - happily chirp as they feast on the seed in the feeders. I delight in periodic visits from mourning doves, downy woodpeckers, mockingbirds, and wrens. These backyard birds have given me the opportunity to slow down and appreciate the here-and-now, noticing with intent sights, sounds, and feelings. The introspection I have done has led me to discover my desire to broaden the ways in which I support the wellness of others; Songbird Wellness was born out of this aspiration. My mission through Songbird Wellness is to improve the wellness of others via psychotherapy, group support and counseling, and education. As each bird finds its own way, I am committed to helping you navigate your flight to wellness, in whatever way that journey takes shape.

At CenteredMind Online, I specialize in working with students who are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or emotionally drained, and are ready to feel more balanced and in control of their lives. Many of the clients I work with are juggling academic pressures, relationships, and personal expectations, often while hiding how stressed or stuck they feel. On the outside, they may seem high-functioning, but internally they’re quietly struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, or sleep issues. If you’ve been finding it harder to focus, stay motivated, or feel rested, no matter how hard you try, you’re not alone, and you don’t have to figure it out on your own. That’s where I come in. I provide a calm, nonjudgmental space where you can feel heard and understood, and your mental health is finally a priority. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, panic attacks, depression, or simply feeling unmotivated or disconnected, we’ll work together to find a clear path forward. My approach is compassionate, and focused on helping you feel more grounded, and more like yourself again. I offer both medication management and supportive therapy, tailored to your individual needs. Together, we’ll look at what’s getting in your way and build a plan to help you move forward with solutions to help you feel more balanced and centered. CenteredMind Online is a fully virtual psychiatric practice, so you can meet with me from the comfort and privacy of your own space. I offer flexible scheduling, including evenings and weekends, to make care more accessible. No commuting. No waiting rooms. Just real support when you need it most. Welcome to Empirical Embrace Counseling! I became a therapist because I understand what it feels like to be in the throes of mental illness while also navigating the ups and downs of life - and how isolating that can be. I want all of my clients to feel safe when they are in the therapy room with me. I want them to know that they have me in their corner to support, guide, and advocate for them. My clients inspire me every. single. day. and I am truly passionate about my work. I am extensively trained in a variety of evidence-based treatments for OCD, eating disorders, anxiety disorders, and trauma. Some of these treatment modalities include Exposure/Response Prevention, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy - Enhanced for ED's, Prolonged Exposure for PTSD, and general Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for anxiety and depression. The most important thing to me in the therapy room is my relationship with my client. I approach this with compassion and empathy and most importantly, meeting my clients where they are. Holding the space for my clients to experience life's ups and downs is one of my greatest strengths.

I enjoy working with college-age students who are struggling with a variety of challenges such as trauma, anxiety, depression, stress, ADHD, post-partum, miscarriage, and relationship difficulties. I believe in the integration of body, mind, and spirit and the importance of bringing balance to one's life for optimal functioning. Our journey together would work toward wellness and healing in a trusting, safe, and secure relationship. I integrate a variety of therapies to best suit my clients' needs, including EMDR, Internal Family Systems, trauma-focused therapies, and traditional talk psychotherapy. I have a certification in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy, as well as training in Internal Family Systems therapy.
