Everyone has battles to fight and hurdles to overcome at some point. Whether you struggle with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, or any other issue, you should know that there is hope for a better tomorrow. You might be initially hesitant to seek out help and support for personal matters, but when you do, you will feel confident that you are taking a courageous first step towards getting to a better place and being a better you. CW Psychological Service specializes in treating individuals, couples and families, and through years of experience. We are confident that no problem is too great to overcome. Through therapy, there is always a way to address the issues you face and learn coping strategies to help you both right now and in the future. Throughout our years of practice, we have worked as therapists and evaluators in a variety of levels of care such as nursing homes, intensive outpatient programs, community-based programs, community mental health, and forensic settings. We work closely with individuals to build a collaborative and trusting relationship in order to provide compassion, safety, security, and a solution to their problems. It is both a pleasure and honor for us to assist clients in regaining a sense of hope and control in their lives by identifying the deeper causes of what may be holding you back and give you tools to move forward. Hello! I'm so happy you stopped by! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Pennsylvania. I have 13 years of experience in the mental health field and I have also recently completed doctoral training in clinical psychology. I specialize in psychodynamic therapy and have a great deal of experience in working with people with eating disorders, anxiety, depression, relationship problems and concerns and personality concerns/disorders. I provide a non-judgmental and safe space for clients to open up about their struggles and painful experiences. I follow the client's lead as we work together to build an understanding of what is fueling their current difficulties. As we work together, client's develop a complex understanding of their lives and what has led to their current struggles. This opens up the possibility for new emotional and relationship experiences. My focus is on helping clients achieve long term and lasting change. Clients can expect to feel heard and accepted. With an environment of warmth, humor and curiosity, clients feel open to discuss their painful experiences and to open up emotionally in a way that they may not feel able to in most spaces in their lives. We will work together to build a deeper understanding of your experience, which will lead to long term and lasting change in emotions, work and relationships.
You’ve had enough of the shame, secrecy, and broken promises tied to pornography addiction. You’re capable and successful—yet inside you feel stuck. Trying harder hasn’t worked. Rules, willpower, and white-knuckling fail over time. For some, a relationship they care about is at risk. For others, it’s the quiet fear of where this is heading if nothing changes. For those dealing with porn or sexual addiction, generic counseling isn’t enough. This depth of work requires a specialized, focused approach that addresses what’s actually driving the behavior—not just trying to stop it. I’m Pete, founder of Proven Path Counseling—an award-winning psychotherapist with 15 years of experience serving PA & NJ, specializing in porn and sex addiction. I’m recognized as a trusted authority in men’s issues and sexual addiction, training and supervising other clinicians and appearing in media on sexual addiction, trauma, and men’s mental health. Clients value my active, direct, and encouraging approach—real accountability, practical tools, and work that targets the drivers beneath the patterns so change actually lasts. That's why men and other therapists trust my work. If you’re here, you’ve already taken an important first step. Reach out for a free consultation to see if we're a good fit.
Above all, my approach to treatment is compassionate, understanding, and respectful. My goal is to provide a space where you will be heard, understood, and validated while helping you achieve your goals and reach your potential. I believe that every person has the ability find relief form their struggles and live their best life with the right support. My areas of clinical expertise include treatment for depression, anxiety, eating disorders, personality disorders, and trauma related issues. Since each person is unique, you can imagine that there are many different ways to successfully address life's challenges. Therefore, I utilize an integrative approach to therapy that revolves entirely around your needs. In your therapy sessions you can expect a highly-personalized treatment approach that is informed by the latest research in the field. I offer complimentary initial consultations. I welcome the opportunity to learn about your current struggles and share how I can be of help to you.
I love being a counselor and deeply enjoy the collaborative process of psychotherapy. I bring personal warmth, respectful curiosity, and genuine care for you as a person into our work together. My enthusiasm is blended with a naturally gentle demeanor, respect for you and your experiences, and commitment to principles of social justice. Whether you’re reaching out for personal enrichment, general emotional support, or specific mental health concerns, I can be a helpful collaborator for a variety of purposes. I provide individual therapy that is grounded in social consciousness and focused on your needs. It is a common and welcome scenario to be uncertain about our direction at the outset. We’ll figure it out together by understanding your interests and concerns, as well as the interpersonal, cultural, and sociopolitical dynamics interacting with them. The focus of our work can encompass anxiety, depression, LGBTGEQIAP+ affirming therapy, transitions and life changes, self-concept/ compassion, collaborative assessment and diagnosis, grief and bereavement, interpersonal skills, stressor-related issues, and other concerns. While I’m eager to work with adults of any age, I’m especially experienced with helping young adults navigate heavy existential questions, identity development, political distress, and career and academic exploration. Prior to counseling, I was a student affairs professional at several different universities, and consider that background important to many aspects of my identity as a counselor. The purpose of our work will unfold through a meaningful therapeutic relationship, prioritizing your self-expertise and personal strengths in conjunction with my theoretical approach. Although each person’s therapeutic process is unique, our work can involve developing insight from emotional experience, re-contextualizing suffering through political and socio-economic critique, interpreting thematic patterns for new ways of relating to self and others, constructing meaning to restore or enhance agency, and building relational empowerment for social change. I grew up in Pennsylvania and recently returned after three years in Houston, TX and another ten years living in three other states. In addition to counseling, I enjoy running, learning, travelling, coffee, reading, movies, and ice cream. Most especially, I cherish quality time with my spouse, family, and multiple pets.
Whether you're navigating relationship challenges, major life transitions, trauma, anxiety, or depression, I’m glad you’re here seeking support. Rather than focusing on happiness as a fixed goal, I help clients explore what fulfillment means in the context of their lives. Fulfillment allows space for the full range of emotional experiences supports a more honest, grounded way of engaging with yourself and the world. ClinicalApproach I bring a systems-oriented lens to our work together, considering how our early relationships and life experiences shape our current sense of self, the way we connect with others, and how we move through the world. My integrative approach draws from several evidence-based modalities including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT); Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT); and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) But above all, I'm client-centered. I've seen what happens when therapy gets too rigid or robotic, when the humanity of it gets lost. That’s not what you’ll get with me. I’ll use evidence-based methods and also meet you with honesty, care, and a good sense of when to push and when to pause.
Holiday Blues? Struggles with navigating challenges like depression, anxiety, trauma, behavioral concerns, stress, and self-esteem? I offer a supportive space where you can explore what’s weighing on you and begin to move toward healing and balance. My approach is person-centered and tailored to your needs. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or just need someone to talk to, I’m here to help. I draw from a range of therapeutic methods including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, strengths-based strategies, psychoeducation, mindfulness, and EMDR. In our first few sessions, we’ll talk about what brings you to therapy—your story. I focus on building trust and rapport from the start because I know opening up can feel intimidating. Together, we’ll identify goals and create a treatment plan that feels right for you. Clients often tell me they appreciate the calm, welcoming environment I create. We’ll work at your pace, and you’ll never be pushed to go faster than you’re ready for. I’m passionate about this work because I get to witness real transformation—watching clients grow, heal, and reconnect with themselves is incredibly rewarding.

The Counseling Corner is a group of dedicated clinicians who take pride in providing quality mental health care. As a mental health practice, we assist members by providing therapy to a wide array of people who are in pursuit of happiness. Our team is comprised of exceptional clinicians with a variety of specialties to ensure we give you the best support possible. From our founder: I wanted to take a moment to share something deeply personal and meaningful to me. At 23, I faced an unimaginable loss when I lost my mother to alcohol addiction. It was a painful journey that led me to struggle with my own mental health for nearly a decade. During that time, I often searched for a purpose and a way to turn my pain into something positive. Today, I’m proud to announce that I’ve opened this mental health practice. We are building a team of incredible clinicians, each of whom shares a commitment to help others navigate difficult times and find hope and healing. Our goal is to create a safe space where people can feel understood, supported, and empowered on their journey to wellness. We’re here to save lives and help individuals reclaim their strength.
