Hello! My name is Peter Wilkins, and I offer treatment for a variety of life problems, including depression, anxiety, grief, trauma recovery, substance abuse, and other life stressors. If you are looking for help, I am ready when you are. I provide therapy both in-person and online. I also offer a free initial consultation!
I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered care for adolescents and adults navigating depression, anxiety, ADHD, and related concerns. I understand that seeking mental health support can feel challenging, and my goal is to create a safe, approachable space where patients feel heard and respected. I take time to build strong therapeutic relationships, listen without judgment, and tailor care to each individual’s unique needs, values, and goals. My approach is holistic and collaborative, recognizing that medication is only one part of mental health care. I work closely with patients to evaluate symptoms, explore treatment options, and develop personalized plans that align with their comfort level. Open communication and flexibility are central to my practice. As a provider with BlueSky Telepsych, I offer accessible, supportive care designed to meet you where you are. If you’re looking for a provider who listens, values your input, and partners with you in your care, I invite you to schedule an appointment and take the next step toward healing and balance.
I am a Licensed Marital and Family Therapist. I completed my Bachelor’s at University of Missouri-Columbia in 2002 and her Master’s at Northern Illinois University in 2005. I am currently licensed in Texas and Missouri. My specialities are working with individuals, couples, families and children dealing with divorce/separation, blended families, and absent parents. I have also worked with a variety of individuals including those diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders, families dealing with substance abuse/alcoholism, and those exposed to neighborhood violence. I like cognitive behavior and systems theory as an approach to therapy and will point out roles, rules, and dynamics that often play out in families in order to facilitate change. I offer only telehealth/video sessions so you don't have to leave the comforts of your own home.
Hello, my practice is telehealth-based, so I have many options for seeing people from multiple states where I am licensed. They include FL, MI, and TX. I see only adults and have seen people for many years concerning relationships with friends, partners, and families due to conflict and spiritual/ cultural differences. I have also walked with clients through major life transitions from work, and academics, to the college experience.
Trauma, Relationships, and Family Patterns — Helping You Build Healthier Connections If you’re feeling overwhelmed by past experiences, stuck in relationship patterns, or struggling with communication and connection, you’re not alone. I work with individuals, couples, and families who are navigating trauma, family-of-origin challenges, communication difficulties, cultural differences, and life transitions—and who are ready to better understand themselves and create meaningful change. As a practicum therapist in the Marriage and Family Therapy program at Abilene Christian University, I am supervised by Julia Wesley, LMFT-S, and provide therapy in the Frisco and Prosper areas. In our work together, you can expect a supportive, nonjudgmental space where we focus on understanding patterns—how you communicate, how your family-of-origin experiences shape your relationships, and how past experiences may still be impacting you today. I help clients build stronger communication skills, navigate conflict more effectively, and develop healthier, more fulfilling relationships. I am especially passionate about working with those impacted by trauma and helping clients make sense of how their past connects to their present. My approach is grounded in family systems and relational therapy, meaning we look at how your relationships, environment, and experiences all interact. Rather than focusing only on symptoms, we work to understand the bigger picture and create lasting change in the patterns that matter most to you. I strive to provide a culturally sensitive and inclusive space, and I am committed to supporting clients from diverse backgrounds, including those within the LGBTQ+ community. Before entering the therapy field, I worked in leadership and people management, where I developed strong skills in communication, conflict resolution, and supporting individuals through challenges. I bring that real-world experience into the therapy room to help clients apply practical tools in their daily lives. I am also passionate about supporting diverse and underserved communities. My work as a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Ambassador and ADHD advocate reflects my commitment to creating an inclusive, culturally aware space where clients feel seen, respected, and understood. Reaching out for support can feel like a big step, but you don’t have to do it alone. If you’re ready to begin your healing journey or want to see if we’re a good fit, I invite you to connect.

I became a therapist because I understand how debilitating anxiety and depression resulting from trauma can be. Life can be overwhelming, but healthy coping skills learned in an emotionally safe, non-judgmental environment can help life become manageable and worth living again.
I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). I obtained both my Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Nursing from The University of Texas at Tyler. I have over 11 years of experience in nursing working in various fields and with a variety of patient populations. I have experience working with patients needing mental health services both inpatient and outpatient. I am dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with mental health concerns by increasing access to those needing mental health treatment while providing support, compassion, and understanding. I am here for the patient and want to ensure that all his or her needs are met. I have a passion for working in mental health services and genuinely care about each individual. I listen to his or her concerns and history to develop a diagnosis and formulate a treatment plan with the patient. The patients preferences and needs will lead the treatment approach initially and going forward. I include the patient in all aspects of care. Listening to his or her concerns, symptoms, and history is an important starting point in developing a diagnosis. The diagnosis is thoroughly discussed with the patient and I will answer any questions that present. Following the diagnosis, a plan of care is developed with the patients input. Patient preferences for therapy, medication, or both, are included in the treatment plan, and any referrals necessary will be made. Medication, if necessary and agreed upon, will be called in to the patients preferred pharmacy and any remaining questions or concerns will be addressed. A follow-up visit to assess ongoing effectiveness of the treatment plan will be made. At consecutive appointments, any necessary changes to the treatment plan will be made. However, I am available for concerns, questions, or needs that may arise prior to follow-up visits when needed.
I LOVE guiding college students and young adults and have been doing so for the past 30 years! I’d be honored to guide you through issues with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, ADHD and more. Through play therapy, even young children (ages 3+) can express big feelings in a safe and nurturing way. I support children experiencing family changes—such as divorce, separation, or parenting transitions—while helping them build coping skills, confidence, and healthy communication. I also work with teens and adults navigating stress, anxiety, life transitions, and self-worth challenges. My approach is encouraging, supportive, and focused on helping each client feel understood and empowered. Using play-based techniques and parent–child interaction strategies, I guide children in expressing emotions, developing self-regulation, and improving interactions at home and school. I also offer parents practical tools and psychoeducation to continue the progress outside the therapy room. For clients who wish to incorporate faith or spirituality into their healing, I provide an integrated approach that honors and supports those values. Whether you’re seeking support for your child, teen, or yourself, I would be honored to walk alongside you on your journey toward growth, healing, and emotional well-being.
Are you navigating a big life change, dealing with the weight of grief, or simply feeling overwhelmed? At The Empathy Studio, I work with individuals who often feel stuck in transition—whether it’s a new phase of life, a shift in relationships, or adjusting to adulthood. My goal is to create a space where you can feel understood and supported as you figure out your next steps. I also support women dealing with unique challenges—whether it’s balancing work and personal life, exploring identity, or coping with past experiences. Together, we’ll work through the hard stuff at your pace, without judgment. If you’re looking for someone to walk alongside you during life’s ups and downs, I’m here.
Life can be hard. Extremely hard. Sometimes you can’t see your way out. It’s normal. When those hard moments in life come, I’m here to see you through to the other side of your pain. That’s the goal. The other side. I am the owner and lead therapist at Empowered Perspective. I am licensed in the state of Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and received my master’s degree in Human Relations (the study of psychology, sociology, and anthropology) from the University of Oklahoma. The program provided a solid foundation in my journey to counseling. Before arriving here, I worked in Corporate America for over 12 years guiding individuals through their careers as a Global Talent Director. Although I was “successful” by many people's definition, I wasn’t fulfilled. That is when I decided to answer my “calling” and enter into the counseling profession. I am honored that God chose me to do this work. I work with teens, adults, couples, and families and couples suffering from a variety of issues such as depression, anxiety, life transitions, relationship issues, and grief. As your counselor, you will get someone who is authentic, straightforward, down-to-earth, and open-minded. My job is not to judge you or your actions. My job is to listen to you, encourage you, walk beside you, and yes, sometimes challenge your perspective. I work primarily from the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Spiritual/Transpersonal Therapy treatment modalities. In simple terms, CBT focuses on how thoughts influence our emotions and behavior. Spiritual Therapy focuses on the body, mind and health of a person’s spirit. It puts an emphasis on a person’s spiritual path or enlightenment during life. There is more to life than existing and living through the pain; more than being a mother, spouse, friend, employee, daughter, or son. Getting through the challenges and roadblocks can sometimes feel insurmountable and confusing. My goal is to help you see the beauty of life, find meaning, and sustainable joy. When you are ready, I am here to help.
Our time together will be spent figuring the aspects- emotional, intellectual, sensory-based, and behavioral- of life through out your own story. Growing into learning how to listen to yourself so you can trust what it is you know, and what it is you need will be at the core of each session so that the feelings of stress, overwhelm, anxiousness, depression no longer keep you detached from yourself. The tools I use are done with cultural considerations, and by acknowledging the extra burdens social constructs and systemic environments put on you. I start with listening and being a witness to your story. With your consent, I use therapeutic tools to assist you in taking an objective stance in your story, and in offering yourself compassion. Continuing through developing and honing in on how you understand your experience through strengthening the connection between your mind and body. I am also trained in and have used EMDR (eye movement desensitization reprocessing) with children, teens, adults of both the neurodiverse (Autism, ADHD, etc.) and neurotypical populations. EMDR is used in session, with your consent, when you feel the need to address larger internal hurdles such as phobias or trauma(s) (also known as PTSD or C-PTSD). All of the work will be done at your pace and with your specific needs in mind. I am an affirming counselor and believe counseling should be for everyone. I understand the systemic pressure that can have you trying to “get it right!” A benefit to you may be my stance on de-stigmatizing mental health by avoiding rigid diagnoses and accepting that there is more than one way to live and thrive in this/your world. I will be ready when you are. Until then, good luck on your search. My license number is #93296. I am supervised by Stamatis Bogdanos, LPC-S | #64556 in Houston, Tx. Life is hard! I get it, and more importantly, I get you. Therapy doesn't have to be hard. Sometimes you just need some extra set of eyes on your life with genuine concern and wide expertise. What type of clients found the most success with you thus far? Therapy doesn't work like that with me. Counseling is a personal process. But if you're willing to be goal set, grow, and experience counseling in a non-"bad and bougie" sort of way. Then come check me out!!!!

You may not have all the answers, but you’re open to exploring what’s next. You’re ready to feel heard, gain tools to cope, and take meaningful steps toward feeling more confident and connected.
