WELCOME! I'm so glad you're here. Many of the people I work with are adults who’ve carried more than their fair share — the ones who look capable on the outside but feel anxious or disconnected on the inside. They've usually spent years masking ADHD/AuDHD, are deeply sensitive, and/or are trying to heal from complex trauma (CPTSD). If this sounds like you, I want you to know you're not alone, and you don’t have to keep trying to “figure it out” by yourself. I won’t hand you a checklist or tell you to breathe it away - I promise! Therapy with me is about noticing what’s alive for you and finding ways to move through patterns that have kept you stuck. With over 25 years of experience, and decades dedicated to my own recovery, I offer both professional expertise and a deeply lived understanding to our sessions. I’m quirky, a little unconventional, and definitely human. In our work together, we'll go beyond simply talking about your life. I'll help you to shift out of over-thinking and connect with the wisdom of your heart and body. That’s where your strength and self-trust already live, and where the parts of you that know how to heal can be heard. My therapy dog, Leasel, often joins us, offering her calm presence when words aren’t enough. I draw from approaches like EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Somatic Therapy, integrated with Conscious Living principles. This work helps us uncover patterns that have been shaping your experiences and guides you toward change that's meaningful and actually lasts. Why I May Be A Good Fit For You I believe complex trauma shapes how we connect and move through the world—but those patterns can soften when we’re met with compassion and someone who’s been there. I grew up in a family that looked good on the outside but was marked by addiction and narcissism and it taught me how essential it is to be seen for who we truly are. I'm passionate about helping sensitive people know that hope is real, no matter what. I believe healing happens when we can be honest with ourselves and experience real connection. I show up as a real person—warm and down-to-earth. I also believe animals and nature offer healing when words fall short. I care deeply about neurodivergent folks, LGBTQIA+ inclusion, and creating space for anyone who’s ever felt like they're on the outside looking in. I look forward to connecting with you!

I'm Alyn, a fully bilingual (Spanish/English) Latina Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). My practice is trauma-informed, neurodivergent-affirming, stemming from my own journey as a complex trauma survivor. With a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, I center my work on social justice, cultural affirmation, and total inclusivity. I specialize in supporting teens and young adults through life transitions, including college and identity formation, focusing on inner child work in a safe, validating space. My approach helps clients become more comfortable with distress by gently expanding their window of tolerance. This process boosts emotional intelligence—improving the ability to manage and articulate feelings, deepening connections, and leading to a more satisfying life. I create a secure environment for deep healing, hope, and strengthening inner resolve, using compassion, empathy, and creativity. My goal is to empower you to gain clarity, find balance, manage time and energy wisely, and tap into your inner resilience to face challenges and embrace your unique path.
I earned a Master of Science in Nursing degree specializing in Psychiatry from The University of Texas at Arlington. I am proud to say I am a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I am a true believer that not one of my fellow humans is immune to stress, anxiety, and feelings of sadness at some point in their life. We all find ourselves feeling vulnerable at times. It is completely normal to question why we feel the emotions that we do, why we seem to fall apart at times, and better yet, how we can get through it all in one beautiful piece. I think the first step to meaningful recovery from anxiety, depression, complex mental illness, and/or substance use is to reach out and ask for help. It is a difficult, but very brave action. I am not one to judge, look down on, question your past experiences, or current situation. I am very good at rationally breaking down a situation and I can offer practical advice and medication suggestions depending on your goal in mind. The Mind Parlor is a collaborative counseling practice emphasizing specialized and high quality care. We're not a fan of "one size fits all"... it doesn't work for shoes and it definitely doesn't work for people. We also know your health and well-being are not places on which you want to skimp. This is why we've spent years perfecting our craft and compiling a network of high-caliber specialists to fit any need. We'll match you with the therapist that best fits you. Even if that means setting you up with one of our preferred providers out of house. Bottom line, you deserve the best quality. At The Mind Parlor, we want you to have just that. Now serving the entire state of Texas. Virtual appointments available.
How many of you agree that sometimes LIFE can be difficult? There are so many factors and layers that affect your mood, energy and overall mental health. With my education, background and tools, I can help you navigate the stressors that help you manage schoolwork, relationships and the relationship you have with yourself.
ONLINE ONLY! In my view, psychotherapy serves different purposes at different stages of one's life. For young adults, one of the key tasks at hand is to discover their potential, talents, weaknesses, fears, wants and needs, and to manage relationships at various levels of emotional intimacy. In this process, many of us need to clarify past issues and unresolved conflicts to move forward more freely. My practice is informal, relaxed and friendly, and most of my clients come from multicultural and multiracial backgrounds, and I treasure diversity. I am comfortable working in English, Portuguese and Spanish languages.

Every person will encounter difficult obstacles in life, but your past or current struggles do not have to define your future. I have devoted my life to empowering people experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, post-traumatic stress, ADHD, and other issues, helping them find long-term solutions. I provide therapy in a non-judgmental, supportive space with the goal that you will recognize your value and capacity for wholeness regardless of what holds you back today. Do you find yourself constantly worrying or overthinking every possible outcome? Do you feel like you must prepare for the worst just to feel in control? Do you struggle with uncertainty, fear making the wrong decision, fear missing out, or feel like everything has to be done perfectly? Anxiety can leave you feeling restless, exhausted, and stuck in patterns that affect your sleep, your relationships, and your peace of mind. Now, imagine a life where these challenges don't hold you back and you're able to have deeper relationships and worry less. If something inside you is telling you it may be time to make a change, it’s worth listening to that voice. Together, we can break the seemingly insurmountable barriers you feel in your life. Let's begin a journey so you can become the best version of you.
I help individuals find freedom from anxiety, clarity during transitions, disrupt unhelpful patterns, and pursue fulfillment. My clients often deal with overthinking, self-criticism, indecision, perfectionism, and carry a lot of their worth in performance. This may show up in relationships, self-esteem, or a sense of overwhelm. If this sounds like you, we might be a good fit for therapy. Together we will lean into anxiety to re-expand your life, deconstruct your inner-critic, intentionally pursue greater fulfillment, and change patterns keeping you stuck (relational, behavioral, cognitive, etc). We will facilitate a more values-aligned life and move towards greater fulfillment. I provide a blend of process and practical, to help gain insight and make change when you are ready. I am intuitive about creating a balance of depth and light heartedness that allows for a full range of emotions, including humor! I primarily utilize Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), drawing on other modalities to disrupt deeply-seated core beliefs. Please feel free to reach out for a free phone consultation to get a feel for how we interact, and to answer any questions you might have about this process.
