What sets my practice apart is my two decades of experience working with stress, anxiety, loss/grief, and traumatic experiences. Welcome! I specialize in working with anxiety, relationship concerns, and eating/body image issues. College can be a whirlwind of new experiences, freedoms, and responsibilities. Add to that the current state of the world, and things can easily feel heavy. It's common that in the overwhelm of managing it all, anxiety around life, relationships, and food becomes a way to cope. If you've been struggling, you don't have to carry the weight of it alone-- finding a therapist you like and trust can change everything. I am trained in somatic therapy, which means we include body awareness as a way to get beneath the conscious mind and anxious thoughts that play on repeat. This helps to get in touch with what's really going on and find sustainable relief. Clients often say that somatic therapy promotes deeper change than other types of therapy they've tried before. I know it can take a lot of energy to start with a new therapist. I'm proud of you for caring for yourself by taking these steps. Reach out for a free 30-minute call so we can get to know each other and see if it's a good fit. I look forward to hearing from you!

I work primarily in the areas of addiction, adoption, trauma, and spiritual needs. As an addiction counselor, I work primarily with young men and women struggling to overcome compulsive use of drugs, alcohol, pornography, and internet usage. This may range from life-destructive addiction to those just beginning to see that their use is bringing things they don't want. As an adoption counselor, I work to help adult adoptees confront the issues that may or may not be stemming from being given up for adoption. And as a trauma therapist, I work with the mind-body connection to help those calm their nervous system, and reclaim a clear mind. Finally, all of my work entails the use of mindfulness, and working with the body's response to the mind. This makes my approach very suitable for those beginning to connect to their own sense of spirituality.

Hi, I'm Dr. Franks! When I see students, I conduct an initial session where I provide a diagnosis (if present) and can recommend and provide medications and/or therapy for treatment. I enjoy working with students because their task to start living on their own and develop their own identity is uniquely challenging and exciting. I can help with the diagnosis and treatment of things like depression, anxiety, OCD, bipolar disorder, psychosis, etc. Symptoms that my patients commonly struggle with include worry, sadness, suicidal thinking, stress, insomnia, and trouble concentrating. I am passionate about working with motivated students to help them thrive during their time in college. I completed my undergraduate education at the University of Denver, earning degrees in Biology, Chemistry, and French. I completed my medical and residency training at the University of Colorado, where I had the privilege of serving as Chief Resident. I have since worked in private practice. I look forward to working with you!

Whether you’re struggling with communication in your relationships, working through past experiences that impact intimacy, or feeling tension with family as you grow into your own person, I’m here to support you. You don’t have to figure it all out alone. Let’s work together to help you build confidence, set boundaries, and create relationships that truly align with who you are. College can be intense — full of pressure, transitions, and big questions about who you are and where you’re headed. I offer a calm, compassionate space to slow things down and be with what’s coming up, just as you are, without rushing or fixing. My work is informed by Internal Family Systems (parts work) and mind-body awareness, and is centered on curiosity, presence, and working together. I offer a 15-minute consult as a brief opportunity to connect and ask questions about working together. Students often come to me feeling overwhelmed, self-critical, anxious, or unsure — sometimes carrying stress, family dynamics, perfectionism, or past experiences that still affect them. In our work together, we move gently and at a pace that feels supportive and respectful, paying attention to your inner experience, including how things show up in the body. You don’t need to know exactly what you want to work on or have the right words — we listen together beneath the pressure, creating room for insight, relief, and meaningful change to unfold over time. I have over 10 years of experience supporting people through this kind of inner work. I see therapy as a place where you can feel accompanied as you get to know yourself more deeply and find your own sense of clarity and direction.

I am is a bicultural therapist, mother and wife who is passionate about supporting my clients while they navigate their unique life, relationships, and transitions. I was born and raised in Bogota, Colombia. I have a BA in Psychology and a master’s degree in Somatic Counseling Psychology from Naropa University. I am trained in trauma-based therapy and EMDR. I can support you both in English and Spanish. As a somatic therapist, I believe in the phenomenal connection between body and mind. I work to help her clients understand and establish a close relationship with their bodies. My somatic training supports the healing process by helping clients understanding how tuning into the nervous system alone can generate more wellbeing in daily life. I work with families, couples, children, teens and adults. As a therapist, I advocate and work with people of diverse backgrounds. My main lens is on the importance of how relationships shape who we are. I have experience working within various forms of attachment-based therapy and utilizes a trauma informed perspective to meet her clients where they are. My main purpose is to create a safe space to explore and unfold the process of self-discovery, healing, and growth. I am passionate about my clients and the specific supports they’re seeking and know how to apply my training at the level others can understand. When it comes to breaking down barriers, I believe in the power of understanding, exploring, and joining around challenges that can often lead to division and disconnection with self and others. In my work I find that it’s very important to feel seen and recognized in ways that are compassionate and respectful on all accounts. I like to laugh a lot and finds that rushing into things or placing timelines on major life processes can sometimes be unrealistic in the therapeutic setting. In my eyes I see that each of us has a unique understanding around our own timing and rhythm in the world, especially when challenged with life transitions. Offering therapy online.

I work with adults who are navigating anxiety, relationship challenges, trauma, grief, the complexities of life transitions and more. You might be struggling with unhelpful thought patterns, emotional overwhelm, or difficult dynamics with others—or maybe you're just feeling stuck and not sure why. Together, we’ll explore what’s holding you back and build meaningful steps toward the life you want to live. Therapy isn’t about “fixing” you—it’s about helping you reconnect with the strength that’s already within you. Real change begins in a space that feels safe, supportive, and real. That’s what I aim to create: a place where you can be fully seen, heard, and supported. I show up as a real person in the therapy room—with empathy, warmth, and curiosity. My approach is active, collaborative, and inclusive, grounded in values like self-compassion, empowerment, and nonjudgmental awareness. I strive to strike a balance between being supportive and gently challenging, so you feel encouraged to grow at your own pace. In our first session, we’ll take time to understand who you are, what you’re experiencing, and how your past has shaped your present. I take a holistic view, honoring your individuality, identity, and lived experiences. Together, we will design a treatment plan grounded in evidence-based practices that may include CBT, ACT, DBT or EMDR, empowering you with tangible tools to support your healing and create lasting change.
