The Tolleson Counseling Center is a private practice located in Marietta and focuses on helping clients with anxiety, stress management, trauma, perfectionism, self-esteem, and issues related to neurodiversity. Many clients who come to work with us identify as high-achieving teenage or adult women. They’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, and burnt out and are often looking to learn different ways to manage the stress they experience from trying to balance their numerous responsibilities. We're particularly passionate about helping these clients challenge perfectionistic tendencies, set boundaries, learn healthy coping strategies, and increase self-awareness and confidence.
I am a warm, caring counselor with a direct style. I believe that we are capable of much more than we oftentimes give ourselves credit for; an experienced ear and fresh perspective can help make the difference between simply surviving and thriving. It would be my honor to help you achieve more. I specialize in working with people struggling with mood problems and anxiety symptoms. I also love helping people overcome challenges associated with trauma and troublesome histories. I approach the therapeutic relationship with a deep respect for your preferences, strengths and desires. My office is ITP, conveniently located on Buford Highway between Lenox and North Druid Hills.
Hello; My name is Shane Blasko. I am a Licensed Psychologist. The style of therapy that I utilize is compassion-based interpersonal therapy, which is based on the idea that the relationship between a person and their therapist is extremely important. I believe that everyone can benefit from therapy; it is an important relationship through which we can heal from past traumas, work through life transitions, learn to communicate more effectively, and learn to manage disruptive symptoms through learning more effective ways of coping, and understanding why we cope the way we do. I believe that it is important for therapists to try to understand the different contexts that each client is coming from; this means that I am dedicated to learning more about how each client experiences the world, and makes sense of it. I believe that each individual is unique, and that part of the job of the therapist is to try to understand how the client makes meaning of their experiences, and to assist the client with their goals.
I view the soul as your mind, will, and emotions—the essence of who you are. Trauma can leave wounds that shape your view of yourself and the world, leaving fractures in your soul. Healing to me is not about ‘fixing,’ but about meeting yourself with compassion, understanding the protective patterns that once kept you safe, and reconnecting with the authentic self beneath them. I believe that every person carries an innate capacity for healing, even when pain and shame feel overwhelming. I trust that our wounds, when met with love and grace, can become openings to deeper wisdom, resilience, and growth. I also believe that healing is not a linear path—it unfolds gently, at your own pace, when safety and compassion are present. My work is rooted in the belief that wholeness is possible. "Grace softens the pain, love holds the wound, and compassion leads the healing.” The approaches I use are grounded in years of experience walking alongside survivors of trauma. Together, we’ll work with tools that go beyond surface-level coping and actually reach the root of what’s happening in your body and brain. Through Brainspotting, we can access and release the deep, unprocessed experiences that often drive anxiety and overwhelm. With trauma-informed DBT skills, you’ll learn practical ways to manage emotions, reduce shame, and build resilience. Using somatic approaches, we’ll gently reconnect with your body’s wisdom so that you feel more grounded and safe in your own skin. All of this work is held within a compassion-centered framework—because healing isn’t about fixing what’s ‘broken,’ it’s about meeting yourself with kindness and learning to trust your own inner strength. My goal is for you to leave therapy with tools you can carry with you anywhere—simple, effective practices that help calm your body, quiet your mind, and create space for peace.
I address anxiety stemming from social, school, and family dynamics, providing the necessary support to navigate these changes. I assist in the transition from college to career, including complexities in dating, family, and work, offering a safe space to explore self-identity and achieve life goals. We will collaborate using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Narrative Therapy. What does this mean? It means we will identify the false scripts keeping you stuck and create a new storyline where you are the main character shaping your life. In my space, every uncomfortable feeling is accepted, and every question is worth asking. Whether you’ve never sought counseling before or have been in therapy for years, I believe my approach is unique. My goal is to empower you and watch you succeed. So, let's connect and collaboratively rewrite your narrative.
I am a Licensed Psychologist who offers individual therapy, as well as learning disorders, ADHD, personality and psychopathology testing. My training has primarily consisted of working with college students in counseling centers and private practice settings. I offer therapy and have experience addressing depression, self-esteem, grief, relationships, anxiety, and identity development. I also offer comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations for learning disorders and ADHD, as well as psychological evaluations to assess mood, personality, and relationship functioning. In psychotherapy and testing, I pride myself on taking a strengths-based approach; I believe that we all have undiscovered strengths that can be useful during challenging times. My theoretical orientation is Interpersonal, an integrative framework that helps you explore your life through the perspectives of connection, thoughts, and emotions. I welcome you to be all of who you are, while helping you explore all that you can be. You may be wondering if you are capable of taking this step, and the answer is YES! It may take you out of your comfort zone, but you are not alone once you step outside of it. Sometimes we need additional support to reach our potential and navigate change, and it is my honor to be a helping hand in your life. * I am a Clinical Supervisor at the Georgia State University Counseling Center (GSU Counseling Center). College is a time of immense growth, but it can also feel like you're expected to have everything figured out. The pressure to choose the right major, land the right internship, and map out your entire future can feel suffocating. I know this firsthand - I changed careers a few times before finding my path in counseling. I understand what it's like to sit with the uncertainty of wondering whether you're on the right track and feeling like you're falling behind while everyone else seems to have it together. Whether you're adjusting to a new campus, navigating the independence of college life, or struggling with anxiety and depression, I provide a space to unpack those pressures and reconnect with what actually matters to you. I also enjoy working with student-athletes. Balancing the demands of academics and athletics comes with a unique set of pressures. When so much of your identity is tied to performance, it can be difficult to know who you are outside of your sport. There are a lot of challenges involved such as adjusting to a new team environment, managing the weight of expectations from coaches and peers, or facing burnout and the emotional toll of competition. Together, we can work to build resilience that extends beyond the field or court and help you develop a stronger sense of self that isn't solely defined by your achievements. In therapy, I offer a warm, collaborative approach where healing happens through genuine connection. I believe people suffer most when they are living out of alignment with their own values and desires rather than the expectations placed on them by society, family, coaches, or culture. Part of our work together is identifying those messages and exploring which ones are truly yours.
I believe in empowering clients to make the best choices for them. It often feels like we are along for the ride without realizing the opportunities to create change in our lives. I understand that therapy can be a difficult and sometimes uncomfortable process. In session, you are in the driver’s seat, and I am your navigator. Ultimately, you are in control of getting to your destination. Together, we can discover the where and how. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Masters of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Georgia Southern University. I have assisted young adults transitioning to adulthood in private practice and college counseling settings. I use person-centered, solution-focused, empowerment, and mindfulness-based interventions with clients. I am passionate about working with individuals who want to improve any areas of their life. Increasing self-awareness is often the first step to noticing our patterns. I understand that all clients are unique, which is why I tailor my approach to best suit you. Let's discover your skills and goals together.

I work with teens and adults, most of whom have ADHD and/or ASD. I support anxiety, depression, executive dysfunction, trauma, etc. I currently offer therapy groups for young adults who want meaningful connections or who feel like most of their relationships are shallow/want deeper friendships or romantic relationships.
I love working with women, specifically in their 20s-40s. I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, mom and stepmom who cares deeply about supporting women and their partners as they navigate challenges and seek to have fulfilling relationships. Many of the women I work with are high-achieving, thoughtful, and carrying more than they let on. They're juggling the load of all the roles they fill, tend to put others before themself, are feeling disconnected or hurt in a relationship, or have a hard time quieting the constant chatter in their minds. With a spirit of authenticity, transparency, and some humor, I help women and couples to feel seen and understood as we unpack current or past issues and create a new path forward.
College can look exciting on the outside — but behind the scenes, many students feel overwhelmed, exhausted, and unsure they’re keeping up. You may be juggling classes, pressure to succeed, shifting friendships, family expectations, and big decisions about your future — all while trying to hold it together on the outside. If you feel anxious, overwhelmed, unmotivated, or unsure of yourself, you’re not the only one. I work with students who care about doing well but feel burned out from trying to keep up. Many struggle with anxiety, procrastination, trouble focusing, low confidence, perfectionism, or feeling like they don’t quite fit in. Others feel stuck after a setback, unsure about their direction, or overwhelmed by the independence and responsibility that come with college life. Together, we will focus on understanding what’s driving the stress and building practical tools to help you feel more grounded and in control. We might work on managing anxiety, improving focus and organization, navigating relationships, strengthening confidence, and creating a healthier balance between achievement and well-being. I offer a supportive, welcoming, and judgment-free space where you can be real about what you’re going through and feel understood. My goal is to help you make college feel more manageable and to help you move forward with clarity, confidence, and a stronger sense of who you are.

Pain shows up in many forms — in your body, your emotions, and your closest relationships — and none of it is simple. I work with chronic pain, addiction, relationship strain, and the experience of feeling disconnected from self and others. My approach isn’t about merely eliminating these challenges, but about supporting you as a whole person living with them. Together, through individual, couples, or family therapy, we explore the patterns and meanings behind what you’ve carried, creating space for relief, deeper connection, and a more grounded way of moving through your life.
