As a college student or mid-career professional, trauma is the last thing you want to talk about. You wake up and take care of yourself. You go to class, go to work, clean your apartment, take care of your dog, go to the gym. You’re doing more than surviving- by many definitions, you are thriving! However, most people don’t know your story. A part of you feels grateful for your life, but another part wonders, "How would life be different if the (trauma) never happened to me?" You’re ready to let go of shame and guilt. You’re ready to transform trauma into a tool for meaningful change. You’re ready to renew your life. I encourage you to email me, or visit my website to learn more and schedule a free 20-minute phone consultation: www.RenewTherapyGA.com/get-started Do you have insurance? “I have learned now that while those who speak about one’s miseries usually hurt, those who keep silence hurt more.” - Clive Staples Lewis Beginning the process of therapy can be intimidating, overwhelming, and scary. I completely understand and have been where you are. Sitting in silence only prolongs the inevitable. Trying to resolve the problem with the help of a friend or loved one eases the burden temporarily but you may not get to the core. Working with a trusted therapist, you begin to understand your deeper thought processes, the ineffective loops you’re likely stuck in, and the fear-based thoughts holding you back. I help people struggling with stress, depression, anxiety, trauma, and relational conflicts. I begin where you stand now. I move slowly, gently, and respectfully towards the goals we create together. My therapeutic approach includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) for trauma, and Systemic Family Therapy. Some of my past experiences include working with individuals and couples in several private practice locations over the years, an inpatient drug/alcohol addiction treatment center, and at a U.S. Air Force base helping military members and their families. I also worked as a mental health counselor in a close-security prison for 3 ½ years helping male inmates struggling with mental health issues. A few fun facts about me: I spent 20 years in the U.S. Air Force and have lived in multiple countries and states. I've been married to my beautiful bride for over 20 years and we are empty nesters (if you don't count our 4 pets)!

I primarily work with individuals struggling with compulsive behavior, including sex/porn addiction, codependency, internet/social media addiction, and problem spending/debting. Addiction is meant to make you feel less. It provides temporary numbing for lifelong pain. You feel trapped, depressed, angry, anxious, guilty, and afraid when you can't stop. Recovering from compulsive behavior, though not easy, is possible and has been accomplished many times. But it does require a complete change in beliefs and attitude, along with how to deal with life and its problems. Getting out of your head and taking action is the next indicated step. Listen to your mind and body - it's time to stop treating yourself so badly. I can help you learn to help yourself. You can become your own best advocate. All are welcome in my office, including those from BIPOC and LGBTQIA communities.
You’ve spent so much time being who everyone needed you to be and have drifted away from who YOU need to be for YOU. On the outside everything looks fine… you’re the “strong” one, you’re handling “business”, and you show up for everyone. BUT On the inside you may wish you had a “you”, are experiencing guilt/shame that you’re not where you are supposed to be in life, or maybe you are feeling overwhelmed from overthinking every detail. Life be life-ing, and sometimes we need someone to help us navigate, or a place to simply, just be. At my practice, Bloom House Therapy and Wellness, I love guiding teen girls and women to see life from a new angle. I am a firm believer in the fact we teach people how to treat us, and I'm here to walk alongside you as you rediscover self-care and figure out how you want to treat yourself. Together, we'll silence that inner critic and build relationships that nourish your soul, empowering you to reach your full potential. My therapy style is authentic and down to earth, innovative, and empowering. I get it sis, I know first hand the ups and downs of navigating life’s transitions, I will meet you where you are, and together we will navigate the road to you living your BEST authentic life.
