I have worked within a high school, adolescent group home, outpatient clinic, an addiction treatment center, an adolescent inpatient setting, and now private practice. I have 20 years of experience working with teens, adults and families who are in crisis. My work is often with individuals struggling with difficult symptoms; therefore I operate honestly, directly and professionally. I truly enjoy serving in this field, working with the individuals and families and being a witness to the growth that transpires.

It's wonderful you're taking the step to care for your mental health! I have a heart for college and graduate students and understand the unique stressors of university life, such as academic pressure, social anxieties, and the transition to independence. I am also passionate about helping individuals explore how their cultural and ethnic identities and upbringing interplay with their mental well-being, including the experiences related to cultural identity and navigating multiple cultural spaces. My background as a teacher, HR professional, writer, wife, mother, and therapist has broadened my empathy and understanding of diverse experiences. I graduated with a master's degree in clinical mental health counseling from Northwestern University and am trained in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), a well-researched method for trauma. I offer a collaborative therapeutic approach, and utilize many researched methods tailored to your individual needs. I understand that family history and early relationships can significantly impact mental health, so I often begin by exploring these areas. Together, we'll create a plan to achieve your goals. I enjoy working with adults of all ages, but I have a special fondness of college and graduate students during this unique time of exploration and adjustment. Please reach out, and let's figure things out together!

Starting therapy can be an exciting and daunting process. Working with a therapist allows you to have an unbiased third party listen to your story, validate your feelings and emotions and help foster and provide insight and support. Therapy can help you learn new strategies and techniques to help you better tolerate distress and view thoughts, feelings and situations differently. My goal as a therapist is to provide a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where we can work together to identify and process issues you have been facing. Together we can reflect on previous thinking patterns and behaviors that have led to distress and discuss new options and possibilities.

My job as your therapist is to provide a supportive, non-judgmental, goal-oriented environment for you to highlight and cultivate your best self. Or, in the words of Dolly Parton: "Find out who you are, and do it on purpose." I value humor, humility, and building on your existing strengths to help achieve your goals. My work is informed by a strong belief that our wellbeing is impacted by the environments within which we exist, and I work to help improve the communities and systems that we all inhabit. I specialize in helping clients address anxiety, depression, trauma, and identity development. My approach is casual and client-centered. My theoretical orientation is eclectic, meaning I draw on a broad range of clinical interventions and theories to best suit your specific needs. It's important to find a therapist who feels like a good fit. I invite you to reach out so we can touch base by phone and discuss any questions you might have about the therapy process.

Finding the right therapist matters, and starting therapy can feel vulnerable. I aim to create a warm, supportive space where you feel understood, respected, and empowered. My goal is for therapy to be both practical and reflective—a place for insight, growth, and genuine change. I’m a licensed clinical psychologist working with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, emotion dysregulation, increased stress, and life transitions. I work with individuals at different stages of life, including adults, adolescents, and children, and I also support parents as they navigate their own challenges and transitions. My approach to therapy is collaborative, flexible, and grounded in evidence-based practices, including CBT and DBT. I believe therapy should move at a pace that honors where you are and what you’re ready for. Together, we’ll explore how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors connect, and work toward changes that feel both meaningful and sustainable. My background: I earned my doctorate degree (PsyD) in Combined School and Clinical Psychology from the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology at Yeshiva University. Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is built for students like you—maybe you’re a Merrimack Warrior stressed out from exams and turning to drinking or drugs to cope, or a commuter student from Lawrence feeling trapped by a gambling habit that’s spiraled out of control. We connect best with those who are juggling school, work, or campus vibes but finding that substance use or betting is throwing them off track. We’re a great fit for students who are ready to face the mess—whether it’s partying too hard to numb the pressure, skipping classes because of a hangover, or losing cash you can’t afford on bets—and want to get back to feeling steady without dropping everything. Located just a couple miles from Merrimack College in North Andover, we’re easy to reach from Andover, Methuen, or Haverhill, and we’ve got your schedule covered with morning, afternoon, and evening IOP sessions.
