I enjoy working with college students. It is so much wiser to try and get hold of whatever issues you are struggling with earlier in life, rather than later, as problems can repeat themselves and really become entrenched, causing you pain and needless suffering. In addition, opening yourself to another person and focusing on what hurts often takes courage. My college age patients are often dealing with relationship changes, a changing sense of personal identity (sexual or in terms of sense of who I am or who I am becoming), concerns about study pressures or dynamics within friend groups or the dorm. Issues with your family at home can also be bothering you. Whatever your needs, I am comfortable defining exactly what they are, working with you to figure out what you need, and doing my best to get you on your way feeling that you've been helped and you possess the tools to keep going with confidence.

I have a particular interest in college and graduate students. Prior to private practice, I worked at Hunter College. I have also worked at Pratt Institute and collaborated with FIT, the New School, LIM College, and Columbia University. Furthermore, I have extensive experience with eating disorders and substance abuse amongst young adults. In my practice, I utilize an eclectic style that is tailored to your individual needs. In addition, I have been offering more executive functioning coaching to young adults who need it. I look forward to hearing from you.

Have you been having a harder time lately? Are you experiencing a new life transition, like moving to New York and you’re not as happy as you had hoped? Or possibly you are looking to make a change in your relationships, study habits or daily routine but you’re feeling stuck and unmotivated. Regardless of the specific challenge that has brought you to start therapy, you do not have to go through this experience alone. Therapy can help you accomplish your goals in an environment that is safe and non-judgmental. You will strengthen the skills that you already have and learn new ways of thinking and coping to help you move forward. Therapy may also help you consider past and present relationship patterns to help you increase insight and create meaningful connections. I specialize in working with college aged students. I completed my postdoctoral fellowship at NYU's Counseling and Wellness Services and worked as an adjunct faculty member at Queens College and Molloy College. My style is integrative, which means that I tailor treatment to specifically meet my client's goals through various modalities such as cognitive behavioral (CBT), psychodynamic and mindfulness. I use treatment that is evidence-based and effective. I am collaborative, goal-directed, and open.

As a mental health counselor dedicated to helping patients cultivate clarity and confidence, I specialize in treating children, adolescents, young adults, and adults. My goal is to help you navigate anxiety, trauma, depression, burnout, life transitions, and/or identity explorations so you live your life fully and authentically. I believe that you are the expert on your life and that everyone is capable of growth and change, which helps me be a supportive and motivational partner to you in the therapy room. I look forward to being a part of your transformative growth in our work together. I’m passionate about helping you know yourself better, increase your psychological flexibility, and find your inner strength. We achieve this together in a collaborative and empathetic environment that incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to guide you in identifying and understanding your core beliefs and patterns, and becoming aware of how these are serving or not serving you. My style is eclectic, collaborative, and person-centered so that care is tailored to your unique needs. My career began with the desire to be a teacher, a path that inspired me to help people learn more about themselves and how to interact with the world around them, not just within school subjects. This experience, along with time spent working with children, adolescents, and families who are or who have been involved in the legal, justice, and child welfare systems, led me to pursue counseling. In my role now as a therapist, I’m committed to using the knowledge and wisdom gained throughout my journey by providing evidence-based mental health care that meets people where they’re at through warmth and humor. I enjoy filling my free time with friends, family, and loved ones. You’ll also often find me scrapbooking and crocheting, or out and about going for walks, spending time outside, and listening to live music.

With more than five years of experience as a trauma-informed therapist, I work with teens and adults navigating trauma, mood disorders, and co-occurring mental health conditions. Beyond the clinical work, what drives me most is a genuine passion for connecting with the people I have the privilege of working with. Therapeutic relationships built on trust and authenticity are at the heart of everything I do. When you feel safe enough to be truly open, not just with me but with yourself, something powerful becomes possible. That vulnerability is where growth begins, and it's something I hold with great care. Watching someone gain insight, deepen their self-awareness, and step closer to the person they aspire to be is, without question, the most rewarding part of this work. It's why I show up as a supportive, collaborative, and reliable partner in every person's journey, and why I look forward to doing the same for you. Every person who walks through my door brings a unique story, and the way I work with you reflects that. Care that's genuinely effective isn't one-size-fits-all, so I tailor each aspect of our work to your specific needs, goals, and lived experiences. From the first session, building a strong, authentic rapport is my priority, because real motivation and lasting change grow out of feeling truly seen and supported. You can expect a space that is safe, collaborative, and free of judgment. Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and psychodynamic therapy, woven together with other evidence-based approaches as your journey calls for them, we'll work to deepen your self-awareness, strengthen your coping skills, and cultivate the tools that support your mental health for the long term. The goal isn't just to help you feel better in the moment; it's to help you grow into the steadiness and confidence that carry you forward. My path to becoming a therapist began with a strong desire to feel understood and a deep curiosity about the human experience. That longing to connect and understand others shaped the way I show up for my patients, with compassion, patience, and genuine empathy. As a Black and Latina woman, I bring a culturally informed perspective to my practice, along with a sincere commitment to stepping outside my own frame of reference to explore and honor the experiences of people from all backgrounds and walks of life. This perspective enriches the care I offer and deepens the connection we build together. In my personal time, I prioritize activities that support balance, creativity, and overall well-being. Reading and crocheting serve as mindful, creative outlets, while a consistent exercise routine and a love of hiking keep me grounded in both body and mind. Staying connected with friends and family is equally important to me, and I make intentional time to nurture those relationships. That commitment to a well-rounded life is something I carry into my work with you.

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, my work is rooted in creating a therapeutic space where you feel seen, supported, and empowered to grow. Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, the weight of trauma, cultural or racial identity concerns, life transitions, or relationship challenges, you don't have to face it alone. With a particular passion for supporting BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities, my practice is designed to be inclusive and affirming for all patients, and especially meaningful to those who haven't always felt centered in their care. Our work together is genuinely collaborative, because healing happens best when you're an active part of the process. Bridging that gap, together, is what I'm here for. From the moment we begin working together, you can expect a space that is warm, nonjudgmental, and tailored to who you are. No two people carry the same experiences, backgrounds, or goals, and your care shouldn't look like anyone else's. Drawing on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness, my approach is integrative, person-centered, and always collaborative. My style is kind yet purposeful: together we'll work toward recognizing your needs and building the practical tools to meet them. Guiding you toward the support and strategies that help you thrive is what drives every session we share. My path to becoming a therapist began in research. Working as a research coordinator, I found myself consistently drawn to the deeper stories behind the data, and to the real concerns people in our studies were carrying with them. It became clear that being a therapist was the right fit, the place where I could do the most meaningful work. That background in research and community mental health shapes how I practice today. It gave me a unique lens for understanding how large-scale societal and structural forces ripple down and affect individuals in very personal ways, and a commitment to integrative, community-rooted care that I bring to every session. Outside of the therapy room, you'll find me soaking up a Broadway show, getting lost in a good book, or somewhere out in the world on my next travel adventure. Water has always been a source of joy for me, whether that means snorkeling, diving, or simply swimming. Lately, I've been diving into new creative outlets as well, teaching myself embroidery and showing up to Pilates class regularly. They've become my favorite way to reset between sessions and return to the work feeling fully present for you.

My clients often come to me feeling stuck. Managing on the outside, but overwhelmed on the inside, whether that's from chronic pain and illness, a major life change, or the pressure of holding everything together. They rarely come looking for someone to tell them to think more positively. They've tried that. They come wanting a space to honestly reckon with what's changed, figure out what still matters, and start building something meaningful from where they actually are. For some, that's anxiety, self-criticism, or burnout. For others, it's rebuilding an identity after chronic pain, injury, or illness changed the life they planned. I work primarily from an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy framework. The work is less about fixing what's wrong and more about learning to relate differently to difficult thoughts and feelings, so you can move toward what actually matters, even when discomfort or old patterns show up. I'm a former collegiate athlete and Army Infantry Officer who came to this work after over a decade in corporate and healthcare leadership, including firsthand experience with chronic pain. That background shapes how I show up in the room, grounded, direct, and genuinely curious about what matters to you. Reach out and let's find out if we're a good fit.

Inclusive Psychotherapy in New York for Adolescents, Adults, and Couples/Relationships You worry all the time about being judged by other people. You feel disconnected from your body and, at the same time, feel like it’s all you think about. You question what you say, how your body looks, if you’re doing things “right,” and there are so many times when your mind feels like it’s on a hamster wheel that you can’t stop. You’re on edge all day and sometimes feel like you may be having a heart attack. You don’t feel like you fit in anywhere. You’ve been made fun of for many different parts of who you are. You’ve been called weird or misunderstood at work, in your family, and even in some of your dating relationships. You’ve struggled to find someone who feels like a good fit romantically, and you’re worried there’s something wrong with you. From the start, we want you to know that at Meadow Therapy, we believe you have inherent worth simply by being born. Throughout your life, you’ve learned tools for survival that may no longer feel like they serve you. We can help you shift those survival skills using Mind to Body Psychotherapy. Mind to Body Psychotherapy is a mix of body-based work, exploration of childhood hurts, the neuroscience of emotions/emotional regulation, and other concrete coping skills, that will help you tap into your inner resources. You already have many creative tools you’ve used for survival. One of our goals is to help you move out of survival mode into having a thriving and fulfilling life. We offer inclusive therapy for adolescents and adults, couples therapy, and group therapy. Using Mind-to-Body Psychotherapy, we can help quiet your harsh thoughts, soothe your racing heart, and calm your body. We specialize in working with trauma survivors, LGBTQIA+, Black, Indigenous, and People of Color, Trans and Gender-Nonconforming, Self-Harming, Addicted, fat/larger-bodied, disabled, kink/BDSM, and polyamorous people. I strive to help people understand their emotional and behavioral patterns and work towards behaviors that can generate meaning and purpose. The evidence-based therapies that I use help treat OCD, trauma, anxiety, depression, phobias, eating disorders, and more. I utilize an empathic and nonjudgmental stance, and aim to compassionately recognize the function of behaviors, and why they might make sense in the past and present. The evidence-based practices I use will include learning skills to help foster more flexible and effective responses to painful and difficult thoughts and feelings. I firmly believe in tailoring treatment to meet your unique needs and goals, and believe our collaboration and therapeutic relationship is essential in this process. My hope is that together we can create a space where you can relate differently to painful thoughts and feelings and create change in their presence.

Much of my practice has centered around understanding the unique complexities surrounding identity development and interpersonal relationships. I work with a wide range of presenting issues such as anxiety, depression, relationship conflict, grief, and trauma. I specialize in relationship distress, life transitions, communication challenges, sexuality and gender related issues, and consensual non-monogamy/polyamory. I believe that transformative therapy begins with a collaborative and trusting therapeutic partnership, one that highlights the unique knowledge, strengths, and skill sets of each client entering the room. Through trauma-informed practice, I aim to facilitate a safe and affirming therapeutic space. I recognize the ways in which institutions, systems, and intersectional identities impact individual experiences and overall wellbeing. My integrated approach to psychotherapy is based upon person-centered, existential, and attachment-based perspectives. I am passionate about exploring the ways in which attachment and trauma impact how an individual’s identity is formed.
