Creative practices can often be a safer and more direct way of expressing, experiencing and understanding the most challenging emotions. I'm a creative arts therapist who has been working in New York for over fourteen years. I integrate my experience as a performer in Jazz, improvised and World music as well as my zen practice of over twenty years into a unique and effective approach to therapy. Using both verbal psychotherapy and creative art mediums in a safe and supportive environment I work to guide the therapeutic process towards achieving a client's unique goals. I specialize in working with clients with depression, anxiety, addiction, ASD, trauma and ADHD. I bring together psychodynamic depth and mindfulness — sometimes with music, sometimes without. My work is warm, exploratory, and grounded in who you actually are. No previous musical experience required. If you're curious whether this approach could work for you, I'd love to find out together. Reach out through my profile to schedule a consultation — no commitment required, just a conversation. New York clients: I offer telehealth across the state, so wherever you are, we can connect.

I am Counseling psychologist, and I've worked in college mental health for the last five years, first as a therapist at Syracuse University's counseling center, then at Rhode Island School of Design's counseling center. I both provided therapy, and helped train others to provide therapy. I love working with students and helping them adjust to being at a university, figuring out how to cope with the demands of college, and find their way in the university system to make sure that they have access to not just tools for their mental health- but access to academic supports, financial assistance, and resources to help them work with their faculty members. I'm a generalist- I work with people across a wide range of issues and identities, and so I really try to tailor what I'm doing to fit what YOU need. I also have specialised training in LGBTQ+ mental health and treatment for Trauma. I believe that we are whole people, and our identities, culture, and access to resources are important to understand, respond to and support in therapy. I both work to help you understand your experience so you can respond in new and creative ways, and also know and use pragmatic strategy-based approaches that give you concrete ideas how to take the next step. If that sounds like a fit for you, reach out and I'm happy to speak more!
The transition to college can feel overwhelming, exciting and full of possibility, yet also uncertain and stressful. I work with college students and young adults who are navigating this new chapter while managing academic pressure, identity exploration, and changing relationships. As the daughter of immigrants, I have a deep passion for supporting immigrants and first-generation Americans. I understand the unique challenges that can come with balancing family expectations, cultural values, and personal goals. I strive to create a space where all parts of your experience are welcomed and understood. My approach to therapy is collaborative and relationship-centered. I believe that a strong, trusting connection is the foundation of meaningful work. I take time to get to know you and tailor therapy to your individual needs, drawing from a variety of therapeutic strategies to create a personalized and supportive experience. Together, we will identify an approach that feels right for you and supports your growth, resilience, and well-being.
I am all too familiar with how so many struggles boil down to the same deep needs: to be seen, supported, understood, or safe. I help people reclaim their energy from the runaway train of their thoughts and the demands of those they care about so they can live with more focus, calm, and control. That means learning to let go of "doing it right" in favor of doing what actually works for you. By separating your sense of worth from how much you give to others, you end your people-pleasing behaviors and work on setting healthy boundaries that protect your energy without the crushing weight of guilt that usually follows. I believe there’s no one right path or set agenda we’re supposed to follow. Sometimes, the best steps we take are the ones that don’t make sense to anyone else, but that feel undeniably true to us. That’s what I help my clients find: a way forward that’s grounded, self-directed, and shaped by who they are, not who they were told to be.
