My goal is to walk alongside my clients as they navigate the unique experience they're currently facing. I strive to create a safe place for individuals to come and share their experience with Grief, Loss, Caregiving, Anxiety, Depression and Life Transitions. I integrate CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and Person-Centered Therapy throughout the counseling process but may use various theories of therapy to best serve you and your situation. My experience includes working as a Grief Counselor and Support Group Coordinator at a hospice organization, where I was able to support many individuals coping with the significant journey of grief. I understand that grief can be life altering and believe no one should have to go through it alone. I prioritize honesty, compassion, non-judgement, and trust. I'm honored to walk alongside my clients through such significant moments in their lives.

Peak Serenity Counseling & Nutrition is a therapy practice devoted to meeting the mental health needs of adolescents, families, and adults living in Colorado and Virginia. We believe that challenging and changing unhealthy behaviors will yield overall better mental and physical health. Together with our clients, we explore past experiences and examine how they continue to impact the present and influence behaviors. Our holistic approach looks at the entire person and not just at the symptoms they are experiencing. Our goal at Peak Serenity is to help clients find their full potential and well-being through self-exploration, understanding, and acceptance of their true, authentic self. Through learning to value themselves and understand their wants and needs, clients explore and discover what brings them to their own sense of peak serenity.

I view therapy as sacred work in which the therapeutic relationship is one of mutual respect and collaboration. I hold a BA in Anthropology from the University of Washington (1997) and a Master’s degree (MA) in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Argosy University (2010) and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Colorado. In 2014 I completed a three year advanced training in Somatic Experiencing (SE), a body-centered approach to treating trauma and other stress disorders. I am inspired by Western psychological models and Eastern contemplative techniques, and my practice is enhanced by many years of experience as a yoga and meditation teacher, and as a seeker of various healing modalities. A life-long path of self-exploration and global adventure has been my classroom and has led me to ashrams, Native American sweat lodges, monasteries, and innumerable seminars, workshops, and retreats. I believe in finding inner growth and meaning in all life experiences, especially adversity. My therapeutic style is integrative and holistic, creatively employing Somatic, Mindfulness, and Cognitive Behavioral techniques with the intention of restoring balance to body, mind and spirit and inner harmony with all of your Parts. I bring deep empathy, insight, warmth, and liberal doses of humor to my clients, specializing in support for those challenged by trauma and anxiety. I am a trauma survivor, and I am particularly dedicated to the healing of childhood sexual abuse. My passion lies in helping you reconnect with your light. Whatever is standing in your way, whether it is shame, trauma, anxiety, low self-worth, we will unearth it. Together, we will heal it. Working as a team, we will be alchemists, transforming pain into personal power and self-love. You deserve to love all parts of yourself. You deserve to feel whole.

Hi and welcome to my page. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor providing outpatient therapy to children, adolescents and young adults. During this time I supported clients experiencing a wide range of difficulties including: anxiety, depression, trauma, sexual abuse, grief and life transitions. I am particularly passionate about working with young adults around issues of anxiety, depression, relationships and grief. My approach is psychodynamic and collaborative, which means that I seek to understand your point of view and history while we examine together areas in which you may be struggling or feel "stuck." My goal is to meet you where you are and work together to improve your level of functioning and provide you with a fresh perspective that will empower you to live the life you want. I offer a free 10 minute phone consultation in order to determine if I am a good fit for your needs. I look forward to being a part of your journey.

How are you handling your life right now? Life can feel overwhelming creating stress, anxiety, fear, and doubt, and leaving us feeling paralyzed and stuck. Transitioning to college, and life after college can really take a minute. As we adjust to new seasons of life, there tends to be a period of the unknown with mixed emotions. Life transitions need life skills. I work with you like we are in a partnership to navigate through the past wounds into a healthier, more stable, and confident future.

I became a therapist because I genuinely want to provide a space for people to show up just as they are. You don’t need to feel a certain way, say anything specific, or meet any goal on my timeline. When we can sit back and accept ourselves as we are, we begin to hear things we couldn’t while trying to fix or fight parts of ourselves. I believe even the most challenging parts of us have protective purposes—they deserve curiosity, not shame. I work from a place of intuition and connection more than a strict model or method. I believe in being direct and encouraging you to take the risk of getting uncomfortable. At the same time, I’ll meet you with real empathy, patience, and compassion—plus a bit of humor or lightness when it feels right. Finding the right therapist is hard—especially one who truly sees your full, authentic self. If anything you’ve read resonates, I’d love to connect. Reach out for a free consultation and we can see if this is the space you’ve been looking for.

Looking for a therapist can feel overwhelming and uncertain, especially when trauma, identity, or religious experiences have made it hard to feel safe in your own life. I believe in the inherent worth of each person – a value that can be easier to understand than to apply to us in practice, but progress is best achieved when starting from a foundation of self-acceptance. That’s where I come in. I am a therapist specializing in emotional and somatic processing, parts work, and Mindfulness-based interventions for those with complex trauma, identity issues, depression and anxiety, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and more. These struggles may seem impossible to overcome, especially when compounded by the adversity of marginalization, identity struggles, or abuse. My mission is to help you feel whole by building skills, developing self-esteem and healthy attachment, and processing your burdens so they can be put down. This includes attuning to the body, calming the nervous system, finding meaning in life, and healing with the compassion and clarity of the true Self. I am here to be a witness, a companion in your journey, and a fellow human being who truly cares. My approach blends Dialectal Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Exposure and Response Prevention skills with Internal Family Systems-based parts work and guided meditation to release trauma and foster self-compassion. In doing so, you learn to make sense of your experiences within the systems around you and foster healing through connection to self, others, and community. Sessions with me sound like: "What was that look there?" "That made me feel a wave of grief. Did you?" "Let’s pause, if that's okay ... Just breathe into the feeling." "All of your emotions are valid, but not all your thoughts are true." "I have some skills for this..." "Let’s talk to this part of you... What does it need? What protects you from?” Above all, treatment should be intentional and built on trust. If this resonates, let’s discuss what you’re looking for together. During my own therapy journey, I learned what it truly meant to “feel your feelings.” At first, the advice seemed absurd; I thought I felt too much. Over time, though, I learned that most of us are never taught how to process emotions or how to let them go. As a Latina and member of the LGBTQ+ and disabled communities, I have often felt misunderstood within therapeutic spaces, and this journey taught me the power of accessing and overcoming emotions holding us back. My work is shaped by these experiences, and I strive to offer inclusive care that centers around each person’s unique strengths and needs. When I am not providing therapy, I love to read fantasy books, write poetry, and make art. Dancing and playing sports in the park are also some of my favorite activities, especially with festive drinks and snacks, and some friends.

Welcome! I specialize in working with identity exploration, perfectionism, social anxiety, and Latina college students/early career professionals. I also enjoy working with concerns related to alcohol use, intergenerational trauma, adjustment issues, and acculturation. Many of my clients have included individuals belonging to the following communities: College/graduate students, Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC), Spanish/Spanglish-speakers, immigrants, children of immigrants, international students, first-generation students, LGBTQIA+ folx, and members of fandom communities (e.g. anime, K-pop, book series, etc.). As a proud "nerdy psychologist," I truly value getting to know my clients' salient identities, passions, hobbies, and background to be able to integrate them into our work. If you are wanting to get support in navigating life in a way that feels authentic to you, then we are on the same page. I strive to co-create a therapeutic experience based on trust, genuineness, and empowerment. Together we will build your confidence and skills to get “unstuck” and move towards action, healing, and a life more in line with your values. Taking the step to find a therapist can be a vulnerable and daunting process. Because of that, I am here to answer any questions you may have. If you feel we may be a good fit, please reach out for a free consultation. With humor, no judgment, and some possible cursing thrown into the mix, we will explore getting to what is meaningful to you.

I help young adults shed their self-doubt, people pleasing, and outdated expectations of who they should be, so they can discover what feels genuinely aligned and feel more connected to themselves and in their relationships. Our work can support you in setting clearer boundaries, understanding and expressing your needs, confidently making authentic decisions, and relating to yourself and your body with more compassion and trust. This is a space to let go of perfection, get curious about what you're experiencing, and reconnect with yourself so you can feel more grounded, whole, and fully alive. I offer walk-and-talk and virtual therapy; many of my clients come to me for support with anxiety, low self esteem, relationship issues, life transitions, stress, and eating disorder recovery. We can talk, create art, play games, or connect with nature while we explore your emotions, find your voice, and move through challenges at your own pace. Together, we can uncover patterns and past experiences that may be keeping you stuck, helping you untangle the threads, release societal pressures, and create lasting change. My goal is to help you live a more confident, fulfilling life. If anything here resonates, reach out for a free consultation. I'd love to hear your story!
