Do you struggle with just being yourself these days? Well, kick off your shoes, relax, put up your feet, let's get real and talk. I know how easy it is to feel alone and always asking why me. Some days it's easy to feel trapped looking for the fastest escape. Others you want to burst into tears or moments you feel like you're making all the wrong choices. I can understand if you need a break and want to scream. I'm here to help. Let's explore those issues you may be struggling with together and take back control of your life.

Young adulthood is tough, and I love helping my clients learn how to balance the stress of college with the rest of their life. I have worked with many young adults who struggle with perfectionism or burnout. For specific treatment concerns, I specialize in working with young adults struggling with anxiety, panic attacks, OCD, ADHD/AuDHD, BFRBs (skin picking/hair pulling), and insomnia/sleep optimization. I can help if you're curious if you have a specific diagnosis and want to learn more, or if you're looking to understand yourself better and feel like you have the tools you need to handle whatever life throws your way. I am LGBTQIA+ affirming and experienced in working with these clients. My office is about 5 min from the KSU campus in Kennesaw, and I see clients virtually as well.
I have been enthusiastically counseling adults for over 15 years. I use the term "enthusiastically," because I am passionate about my job, and working with clients. I continuously keep a positive outlook when I work with clients, believing without a doubt that with the proper tools and support, treatment objectives and goals can be met. I graduated from the University of Central Florida in 2005. I have worked in the USA and in the UK. One of my greatest strengths as a counselor is my ability to provide counseling services to diverse populations. I have worked with clients to address such issues as depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, body image issues, family discourse, anger, stress management, and grief and loss. I am passionate about meeting the needs of my clients to invoke positive change. I embrace the Strengths Perspective in my practice. I choose to focus on the strengths that my clients possess, and build upon them. I am committed to meeting you, as my potential client, right where you are currently. Being a student is a non-stop balancing act of priorities. Are you in need of change but not sure what direction to go in? Life is unpredictable, but that doesn't mean you have to be overwhelmed by it. Maybe you're going through a difficult transition, dealing with chronic issues, or feeling burnt out from the constant grind. I can't wave a magic wand and make it all go away, but we can work together to make it more bearable. I believe you have the right to rest, to be, to thrive. I offer both traditional talk therapy and practical skills/tools to create noticeable growth in your daily life. Sessions with me may involve self-exploration, creating new habits in your day-to-day life, sitting with difficult emotions, taking time to relax in your body, or doing that one thing you've been putting off. This space and time is for you. If you're still unsure about the whole therapy thing, feel free to reach out for a free consultation. I function from a space of compassionate honesty and direct communication. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain by being curious and open to change.

It could be that you feel like things in your life are just out of alignment. Hi, I'm Dr. J'haria Dallas, and I'm so glad you're here. College can be an exciting and transformative time, but it can also feel overwhelming. Whether you're navigating academic stress, anxiety, relationship challenges, family expectations, career uncertainty, burnout, or major life transitions, you don't have to face it alone. Seeking support is a courageous step, and by being here, you're already investing in yourself and your well-being. My approach to counseling is warm, collaborative, and down-to-earth. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to help students better understand the thoughts, emotions, and patterns that may be holding them back while also identifying the strengths and resources they already possess. Together, we'll explore what's beneath the surface, develop practical coping strategies, and create meaningful goals that align with the life you want to build. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of Georgia. Throughout my work as a counselor, educator, and supervisor, I have had the privilege of supporting individuals through some of life's most challenging and uncertain moments. These experiences have reinforced my belief in the power of having a supportive space where you can be authentic, reflect, and grow. I work with college students and young adults who are seeking greater confidence, balance, self-understanding, and connection. My goal is to create a space where you feel heard, valued, and empowered to navigate challenges while building the skills needed to thrive both personally and academically. More than anything, I believe in your ability to grow through adversity, discover your strengths, and create meaningful change. You don't have to have everything figured out to begin. Wherever you are in your journey, I'd be honored to walk alongside you.

Feeling Stressed, Stuck, or Just Overwhelmed? College is exciting—but let’s be honest, it can also feel like too much. Between classes, relationships, family expectations, and trying to figure out who you are and where you’re going, it’s easy to feel anxious, burnt out, or lost. Therapy can give you space to breathe, sort things out, and build tools that actually work for your life right now. You don’t have to wait until you’re “in crisis” to talk to someone—sometimes the best time to reach out is when you just need a place to be real without judgment. Whether it’s stress, identity questions, relationship struggles, or just feeling like you’re carrying more than you should, I’m here to walk with you. Your story matters, and your well-being matters. Let’s start where you are. Book a session today and give yourself the support you deserve.
My approach is collaborative, practical, and grounded in evidence-based treatment. I primarily draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and integrate Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)-informed techniques. I believe therapy should be an active, empowering process that helps you develop insight and tools that actually work in your daily life. My style is warm, straightforward, and curious. I want you to feel both supported and understood as we work together toward your goals. My Experience I’m a licensed psychologist who provides therapy (ages 12+) and psychological assessment for adolescents and adults. I work with individuals navigating anxiety, mood disorders, OCD, identity and relationship concerns, and life transitions. I also have experience supporting clients in recovery from substance use and those within the LGBTQ+ community. Whether through therapy or testing, I strive to help clients gain clarity, confidence, and direction. My Education I earned my Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) degree from Marshall University. I completed my predoctoral internship at Valley Health in Huntington, West Virginia, and my postdoctoral training at Marshall Psychiatry/Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine. What to Expect from Me I bring a warm, authentic, and collaborative style to therapy. You can expect a space that balances compassion with curiosity—where you’ll feel heard and supported, but also challenged in ways that promote growth and insight. Together, we’ll identify what’s getting in the way of your goals and develop strategies that fit your life and values. I offer both in-person and telehealth sessions to make therapy accessible and flexible for your needs. Whether you’re seeking therapy, assessment, or consultation, I look forward to partnering with you on your path toward greater understanding and well-being.

An inherent promise of the therapeutic relationship is that it offers us the possibility of grace - to be accepted for who we are. This is why I strive in my practice to connect individuals with the "curious paradox" that Carl Rogers spoke of - namely, "when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change." My years in practice have led me to appreciate how the most impactful change in therapy comes not through the exorcising of some fundamental flaw - i.e. "I will love myself only when I am not myself" - but through fostering a more intimate relationship to ourselves, friends, those we call family, and to our communities. I possess a gentle strength and innate curiosity, and I utilize an integrative approach that incorporates interpersonal therapy, cognitive behavioral therapies such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), as well as somatic practices. I am also a certified grief therapist. I work with adult (18+) clients seeking support for anxiety and mood disorders, shame/self esteem concerns, grief work, creativity, and personal growth. In addition, I have a life-long involvement in the arts, so I welcome the opportunity to support others experiencing the unique successes and struggles that accompany the creative life.
