When things are difficult, it can isolate us, drain our emotional reserves, and limit our ability to look at things in new ways. I work to help clients appreciate the depth of their experience, and support them toward personal strength and healthier relationships. My style is open, collaborative, direct, and supportive. I am a licensed clinical psychologist with over 20 years in private practice. I also served as adjunct faculty at the University of Rochester's Counseling Center for many years. I bring a range of approaches, but tailor my work to the specific needs of each client. My specialties include issues of loss and trauma, depression, anxiety, medical concerns, life changes, ADHD challenges, LGBTQ+ support, and stressful family or workplace relationships. Many of my clients work in arts-related or other creative fields. I look forward to meeting you!

I offer compassionate evidence-based support to help clients navigate life’s challenges and build emotional resilience. I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and collaborate with clients to identify unhealthy patterns of behavior, replacing them with healthier more constructive approaches. I also specialize in Grief Counseling and provide a safe space to process loss; honor loved ones’ memories with dignity. I also utilize Sandtray therapy which uses creative, hands-on exploration to access emotions and insights that words alone may not express. I am also trained in the following evidenced-based modalities that help clients become solution-focused on a collaborative effort: Person-Centered Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Gottman Method Therapy (couples), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, Cognitive Processing Training, Written Exposure Therapy and Strength-Based Therapy. Through these modalities, I aim to foster healing, self-understanding, and personal growth in a supportive, nonjudgmental environment. I have been practicing as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for twenty plus years. I am originally from Westchester County, New York and completed my B.S. in Psychology from Marymount College and earned my M.S.W. from New York University. My heritage is that of a multi-cultural background and I am Bi-lingual (English and Spanish). I currently live and practice in Tampa, Florida, where I established Consistent Therapy, LLC in 2011.

I come to the practice of counseling after many years working in student services in a university setting. I find (as the research continues to show) that the most important element of effective counseling is the connection between client and counselor—we will work collaboratively. I draw on many approaches including but not limited to client-centered, mindfulness, existential therapy, attachment theory, Buddhist psychology, solution-focused, trauma-informed, grief work, and internal parts work. I am in network with Aetna insurance and UHC/Optum and I also take direct pay (sliding scale is $170 to $120). I am seeing clients mostly through a HIPAA compliant video platform. Currently (Spring 2026), I do have a small number of openings for new clients. I am licensed to practice in New York, Connecticut, Maine, New Mexico, and registered for on line counseling in Florida and South Carolina.

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Tarrytown, NY
Accepting new clients

I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) specializing in the evaluation and treatment of anxiety disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, trauma-related disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, insomnia, and other common mental health concerns for patients across the lifespan. Building trusting, collaborative relationships is central to my practice, as I believe the best outcomes come from working together to create treatment plans that align with each person's goals. Patients are encouraged to be active advocates for their own mental health, while also knowing they have a dedicated partner supporting them in achieving recovery, maintaining stability, and improving their overall well-being. Everyone deserves compassionate, evidence-based mental health care personalized to their unique needs and goals. My role is to be a supportive, collaborative partner who will listen without judgment, celebrate your progress, and help you navigate challenges along the way. Whether you're seeking help for the first time, managing an acute concern, or working to maintain the stability you've achieved, we'll create a plan together that fits your life and empowers you to take an active role in your care. I look forward to helping you build resilience, strengthen your confidence, and work toward lasting mental wellness one day at a time, bringing empathy, collaboration, and a whole-person perspective to every visit so you feel supported, understood, and empowered. Mental health care, in my view, is not only about treating symptoms but also about developing the skills and support needed to manage daily stressors, which are a natural part of life. This means helping patients feel prepared and empowered to navigate challenges without letting them become overwhelming or destabilizing. I am passionate about providing comprehensive care that meets people where they are, whether that includes medication management, psychotherapy, or an integrated combination of both to support long-term mental health and well-being. My approach to care spans the full spectrum of psychiatric acuity, from navigating more acute mental health challenges to maintaining stability and preventing relapse after achieving wellness. Understanding each person's unique experiences, goals, and needs comes first, which I achieve by bringing a compassionate, and individualized approach to every relationship. You can expect a kind, supportive, and collaborative environment where you feel heard, respected, and empowered as we work together. This approach is also encouraging, offering gentle guidance and honest feedback when needed to support meaningful growth. Lasting change happens through partnership, and you are encouraged to take an active role in your own mental health journey. I understand that making these changes can feel challenging, so my goal is to meet you where you are while helping you build confidence, develop effective coping strategies, and move toward greater stability and independence. Every treatment plan is tailored to your unique needs, experiences, and goals, so it feels both realistic and achievable. I began my career in a hospital-based outpatient clinic, where I worked with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds and varying levels of psychiatric acuity, along with six-and-a-half years as a registered nurse in pediatric critical care and pediatric neurology/neurosurgery. Caring for children and supporting families through some of life's most difficult moments showed me how deeply mental and physical health are connected, and how essential accessible, competent, individualized, and compassionate mental health care is to overall well-being. These experiences inspired me to pursue psychiatry and continue caring for people in a different way. Today, I have the privilege of working with patients across the lifespan, and I truly enjoy helping individuals at every stage of life navigate unique challenges. I love cooking, hanging with family and friends, and spending time in the garden. I'm also a devoted New York Rangers hockey fan!

My approach is down-to -earth and professional. I believe in the importance of humor and self compassion in our time together. Being transparent in therapy is crucial; meaning I will share with you why I am asking about certain things or suggesting certain ways of coping. You will find I am easy to talk to and respect how important our time together is. I have 23 years of experience in the mental health field working with people's symptoms of anxiety, stress and depression. Much of that time has been specializing in working with college students and people looking to go into helping professions (e.g. nurses, therapists, doctors)

Due to the coronavirus, my practice is telehealth only. Connecting with a laptop , ipad or phone is easy. I work best with persistent persons wanting a better quality of life. Because it can be difficult to seek help, I provide psychoeducation about therapy to clients and am forthright and supportive. So if you are feeling anxious or sad, have worries, or are worried about social, attention or homework skills, I am able to help. Clients who are motivated to do better and want relief from school, social and family stresses can benefit from my approach to therapy. It is important to remember that each person is an individual who has his or her individual concerns. My approach is focused, following a cognitive-behavioral orientation. I work with a wide range of and have an understanding of the unique culture of colleges and universities. Individuals seen in my practice are generally anxious, stressed, panicky and dealing with life circumstances. I enhance skills through university teaching and professional writing. Treatment emphasizes coping and problem solving skills, which are tools used when formal therapy has ended. One should acquire the ability to see alternatives so problems become less overwhelming and more manageable. As someone who is teaching college students online, I have an understanding of the pressures and stresses that come with the logistics of navigating online instruction. The college students seen in my practice report anxieties related to multiple personal/social, academic and work demands as well as the changes in daily life due to the coronavirus
